Any of my underbidders here? I love the colors on this one. Bought on ebay from a non-comic-dealer but it turned out to be missing the centerfold... oops. No harm no foul; I made a deal with the seller and am happy to add it to my Baker collection as a nice filler.
I must have been on the road that day. Missed the real bidding. Sorry to hear about the cf as well. Glad that the seller made it AOK with you though.

ah. I've tried it before when they would advertise my book for sale. Never got a response, and then their ad would disappear
I'm sure it has been discussed: forcing eBay to intervene/interact/mediate by winning a comic book already in my possession. Does eBay really care about something like this? What can they do that has real teeth in regard to consequences?

No tape on interior, holding the cover on? Cover still attached but taped up to prevent further deterioration of the spine. If the tape wasn't there, 1.5-2.5?
I'm at a 1.5 with the tape
Great book

That’s one less guy in the hobby, as soon as he realizes he’s been ripped off
Too bad that eBay isn't in any way responsible for fraud of this magnitude. I bet it would cease rather quickly if this were the case. eBay hit squads attacking the perpetrators' hardware and banking accounts would be sweet and justified revenge.

A big part of the reason that I returned to comics, is that I found a few of my father's books. Nothing spectacular, rare, or expensive, but it did get my juices flowing once again. He lost all of his childhood comics in a house fire, and he must have seen something that got his comic book desires going again too, many years later. Like father like son, I suppose.

This thread is for grading comics..not identifying them!
So what's the grade?

My buddy has this book.
Not sure what it is.
It looks to be a precursor to a promo line of comics that came out in the 50's, Jim Solar, maybe.
Size is approx 5 1/4" x 8 1/4 ", larger than the Jim Solar line of books.
These are the only pictures I am able to get. He says it does not look to be coverless, but fully intact. fc, bc, and centerfold.
If you can assist in identifying it further, I would appreciate it.

Always had a hard time turning down a pretty face, now got to get back to selling (non-baker) books . Also just noticed she is kicking butt or saving a dude in every cover.
Beauties, one and all.
But why limit yourself? You've plenty of friends to help you with that

Picked these up from my local comic shop tonight from a collection they got in. Not sure what the High Sierra Collection is, but pretty cool to find in the wild and they’re really nice.
- Crime Clinic #10 (1951) Norman Saunders painted cover
- Official True Crime Cases Comics #24 (1947) 1st issue, picks up from Sub-Mariner Comics #23, Syd Shores cover
- Authentic Police Cases #1 (1948) Hale the Magician Begins/Bondage cover, Paul Parker cover
Amazing to find at the LCS.

Apparent refers to an attempt to make the comic look better, Restored to a better grade.
Maybe with the stamp, it would have been a 2.0 ish book, and with that missing, they hit it and brought it down??
I have an ASM 2 with a missing page, does not affect story. .5 Universal label. Otherwise, the book looks like a 2.0ish copy.
I am of the understanding that a request can be made for the higher grade qualified label, or the lower grade blue label, but not sure.

Love this Ghost Rider #7 in particular and it's an excellent example for this thread. It's been on my 'get it if I see it' list for a while.
Yes. I was very fortunate to come across this copy, that practically went overlooked at that particular event. One of my first purchases upon returning to the hobby.

A small % in cash or a book or two is all I could expect now having not negotiated the deal beforehand with the parties involved. But it sounds like you did both parties a solid favor! If they appreciate your assistance/friendship, I wouldn't expect it, but you could see some fee/books and be thankful.
Sometimes the reward does not come right away or in the form that we want or feel we deserve.

Would another phone/device or new location for doing biz be detectable by the eBay sleuths?

This one had to stand out from the crowd when selected for original purchase. Really like it.
Wondering if this production error could be a blue label by today's standards? Or is it to the point where the production error cannot be overlooked?

Could be the same seller who had it returned. Could be the new owner selling it. Hard to tell as the listing is poof but the wooden background in the photo looks like same. Could also be a listing mistake.

I can enter a search for the book, and it will show it is at auction. But when you click to expand it will not show.
