  1. Great looking books, Changer. Maybe one day I'll have some as nice. My latest acquisition needed a new home. I was more than happy to oblige. It suffers from several ailments, but I still love it.
  2. Are you watching/did you watch this book?
  3. Books we all would like to find. Very nice, congratulations.
  4. White book on a white background is tough for me. Looks like a solid book for sure though.
  5. Congrats! I checked this site a couple of times. How long was it listed? I totally missed the boat on this one.
  6. Forgive my ineptness, but is there any tax incentive for requesting payments via crypto or other such noncash forms of payment? Or maybe currency exchange rates? Maybe the seller thinks the crypto is due for a huge rebound, and this could be like "having his cake and eating it too."
  7. It's a great looking example. Nice colors, edges, and white pages. What can you see? Can you see pressable features? Is there enough cleaning that could be remedied? Not sure how much of the foxing can be corrected, if any, ever. Possible that the foxing has brought this copy down a bit, as it looks all of 7.0 and better otherwise. Many folks here with much, much more expertise and experience. I think I saw a post about correcting stains just this week, or weekend. What have you been told previously?
  8. My bidding was disabled when my items came up for auction with HA. A couple of years ago. Has this changed?
  9. My heart leads me to GA. But outside of that, I'd really like to have a nice Showcase #4 in my forever vault.
  10. Amazing friendships often lead to amazing stories. Congratulations
  11. Very nice. Congratulations. Not only have I never owned one, but never held one
  12. Maybe. Interesting conversation as I enjoy making improvements, maximizing potential, making people think, making the boss look good, while sometimes playing devil's advocate. Who would scan every single page from appropriate angles? How many scans would be necessary? Would those scans be done at CGC where the graders normally work? Are the people making the scans of the products trained to handle various comics with zero problems to those with many? Would this require more employees, more equipment, and a larger facility? Would it be cost effective? Would the graders now working from home require extra equipment? The hobby is certainly picking up and gaining more participants. Many learning the basics of the hobby. Many of those think that a clean & press and then grading in almost mandatory these days. I'm thinking that if every T, D, and H didn't submit every single book for a clean & press and then a grading by the company, TAT wouldn't be nearly as lengthy.
  13. Both Major books 5.0 should present better than a 4.0 and certainly much better than a 3.0. FF5 fewer graded Can't go wrong with either book A bird in the hand.... so, FF5
  14. If I were to venture a guess, I'd say new collectors seeing the headlines about comics being sold for large amounts of money, and established collectors cashing in and/or branching out into new segments. Maybe high or highest in grade books being offered are lifting the tide for the lesser copies. We all witnessed the most recent SA value climb, and GA could be catching up a bit.
  15. The ink on the cover would really bug me if I were putting together a run. That being said, there are plenty of copies out there allowing for an upgrade. 3.5/4.0
  16. Such a great cover. 4.0/4.5 if no interior abnormalities
  17. I'm no scholar, and no expert, but love the question. I'm not sure how reliable wiki would be. Isn't wiki able to be updated or changed by many people? Is there a stipulation as to who can and cannot add/change/update? Maybe the term was used long before comics were ever introduced, and used in a written form that eventually evolved into comics? Maybe it was used in languages long ago. Legends abound in many cultures about Heroes. It would really take some digging to nail this down.
  18. Well-loved book and still a beauty. I find a few romance books in this condition locally from time to time. Other party thinks they are junky, and I just fall head over heels for them.
  19. Love to find books in the wild. Glad they arrived safely
  20. Hammer time: Cinderella Love #25 (St. John, 1954) CGC VG+ 4.5 White pages.... | Lot #95036 | Heritage Auctions (ha.com)
