  1. Anyone attend? How was the first day?
  2. Doc Savage #17 cover by Eduardo Barreto Doctor Who Graphic Novel cover #26 - Land of the Blind by Davis Roach
  3. Yes, He drew Silver Star, inspired by Flash Gordon. Stanley Pitt ghosted for Al Williamson on X-9 strip a few times.
  4. Unless they say what the final hammer is its all wildly_fanciful_statement. You can not publicize this as a record breaking sale if you keep the final sale price secret. Keeping the buyer secret is fine but if no public mention of the final sale price then its just another sale to a rich person.
  5. I still find CAF daily email of art posted and for sale very useful. Yes its a Premium service but it does find some great art. Unfortunately it does find art that is already sold. Maybe we should ask Bill to add a filter in for sold artwork.
  6. I am too envious. I love the Sinbad films especially this one.
  7. But you can also have great inkers over pencilers but certain teams like Byrne/Austin, Buscema, Palmer or Alan Davis/Paul Neary command higher prices than if the penciler was paired with different inkers. Unfortunately whomever the penciler is tends to effect the value of a comic art page more than the inker. You will notice when many people post art on the messageboard, Comicartans or Facebook the inking credits tend to be left off. Which is a sham.
  8. I thought Jim Lee sold the whole issue back in the early 90s
  9. It's a great example and the size is amazing but that is just a crazy price for the recreation. Especially since it wasn't the original inker. Anyone know if Joe Sinnott ever recreated that cover?
  10. I have a normal size SS#1 recreation 1/3 the size, does that mean mine is worth $20K?
  11. The premium membership always pays for it self very year for me. I get a couple of pieces thru the daily emails or members I track.
  12. Its a blueprint metal flatfile. I got it some 30 years ago from a design studio that was moving. it's 45"x54". I store my large art in it for most of my 13x19 and smaller art I created a built in bookcase.
  13. My Framed pin-up art in the livingroom ' ' Vampirella is left of the pin-up art
  14. I am not a sex maniac or cross-dresser. I also collect TV and Movie props. That was a 50th B-day gift to myself. Its the 2nd Leela costume from Doctor Who (Tom Baker 4th Doctor), I purchased it directly from the actress Louise Jameson who wore it on the series.
  15. Here is the other piece I got this week: Hanna and Jack Epic by Mark Schultz This pencil piece was recently published in Mark's Carbon 4. Love all the tiny dinosaurs.
  16. Been a while since I had two art days so close together. Illustration from Dynamic Light and Shade by Burne Hogarth This is the second original I own from one of his art instruction books. The other original is from Dynamic Anatomy featuring the right hand and forearm. Love the note from Burne.
  17. John Buscema would sign his name (signature) in the artwork for any of the recreations he did. This would distrinquish them from the published versions.
  18. Unpublsihed cover meant for Flash Gordon (Western) #38. Homage to Flash Gordon #2 Gil Kane cover from the King Features 1960's series.
  19. When I picked up the Silver Surfer #11 splash I also inquired about Silver Surfer #10. It wasn't for sale then but I asked if he did decided to sell it to let me know/ Six months later at Wonder Won he decided to sell it and we made a deal. Of the 16 issues from the series, I think these are the one two not to feature the Silver Surfer. While I would love to own a slash with the Silver Surfer from the series. I am satisfied woth these.
  20. Years ago I was at a collector's house and he had about 3-4 splashes and two covers by Buscema from the first series. I was at his house because I had won one of those splashes for $550 off ebay about 15 years ago. Amazing no one else bid on it, granted it was from issue #11 just a two army men on it. Still in my collection.
