  1. 28% is an absolute outrageous rate. I am stunned. I was giving heavy consideration into leaning in on a big key, but now forget it. I’ll leave my money where it is. What ery. The IRS can bite me im so glad the tax burden got shifted from the oligarchs to those of us who dabble in fine arts I will now have to consider leaving my collection to my heirs. I think the 28% bite gets avoided when the collection goes thru inheritance, as discussed above
  2. I consolidated into 10 key slabs, and will sell them off in 5 years and save my heirs the headache I guess if I get run over by a bus tomorrow, my heirs will inherit the headache, like it or not. I’ve left written directions on how they should handle it
  3. Well I seen your pictures Richard and you look to be a .5 What do you consider high grade . Ok this is funny
  4. Brother, me too. Even now my collecting focus continues to evolve, unabated
  5. Let me tell you how it will be There's one for you, nineteen for me 'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman That’s funny. I have about the same amount of love for the IRS as George
  6. Ok I didn’t know Heritage pays finders fees, but that makes sense to me. I send in W9s for people who help me in my business: private investigators, medical experts, translators and the like. My concern would be if they are sending in W9s for the consignors. But if I understand correctly, they aren’t filing W9s in the names of their consignors, right?
  7. I love how Subby’s tank, instead of being labeled “water”, instead says “anti-flame fluid”. but seriously, what a great schomburg war cover!
  8. Hacked from the ComiConnect archives. Vincent if you’re out there now, this is with love . . .
  9. I let go of a USA 7 5.5 this year, but shockingly it’s not this one. How many are there? I thought it was mine but the cert numbers don’t match. Anyway, good job Markentoth. I just pulled out my records. I lost a few but snagged a few. My 2020 goal is to just stop, but here is my 2019:
  10. Either the Canadian issues are sized differently, or CGC has figured out how to put these books into smaller slabs. Up until I saw this post, I thought they were still putting these oversized books into magazine slabs. Maybe a year ago I asked CGC about a smaller slab and was told no, not possible
  11. I went back and looked. My memory is bad. It was $6500. It’s still a great book. Someone here will get a good deal
  12. I originally paid $7100 for this book in a heritage auction
  13. I want an official Red Ryder, carbine action, two-hundred shot range model air rifle!
