  1. A skeptic may say that indicates a greater concern for the Dow than the people
  2. I have no books in, so I have no dog in the fight, but it seems like there are still some deals to be had. Like Supe 1 1.5 at $60k and Cap 1 7.0 at $132k p.s. Note that I’m not telling you which books I’m eyeballing
  3. A nice off-white coverless Bat 1 coming up (not mine). Its already at $13,500. https://hakes.com/Auction/ItemDetail/238155/BATMAN-1-SPRING-1940-CGC-NG-FIRST-JOKER-CATWOMAN
  4. I think you are spot on. I think our country is going to be learning some new tricks in the next 90 days
  5. For reasons I cannot fathom, the Heritage Cap 1 7.0, at $132k(with the vig) is already doing better than the Clink ones
  6. This is one fugly book, and I'll eat my hat if that's not foxing Bring on the bricks . . .
  7. The Cap 1s and Cap 3 final hammer prices are in this thread a page or two back. In summary, the Cap 1s were soft, the Cap 3 was ok(6 x guide, or, and the Cap 46 7.5 was Ok at $25k. Cap 1 7.5 went for 1.4 Guide Cap 1 5.0 went for 1.5 Guide Cap 3 5.0 went for 5 times Guide Cap 46 7.5 went for 2.3 times Guide Cap 46 has had such a price increase in recent guides that the multiplier may at first blush appear low, but I think its ok
  8. Nary a one. Someone came in over me. i was really torn about throwing down and keeping the Cap 1 5.0. I just wasn’t sure how the glue on the spine would be perceived. (someone please tell me how these “small amounts of color touch” and “small amount of dried glue” books still get a blue label)To me, some amateur did a seal on a spine split. Even if that’s not the case, that’s how I would view it. Still, It was hard to watch that one go.
  9. I'm not a Robin fan, or I would be tempted by that 38. Its got great eye appeal for a 2.5. The defects are detached centerfold and detached cover. I'm not bothered much by that. Book looks 6.5 to me.
  10. I do think the Coronavirus played a part. The stock market has been tanking the last few days. Dow is down 2000 points in 2 days. Any wanna be hitters are licking their wounds instead of buying funny books Attention sellers in what’s left of Clink and the upcoming Heritage auction: let’s hope for a vaccine
  11. $211k for the 7.5 and $100k for the 5.0. Not good. Maybe people didn't like the glue on the 5.0, but still. This is a $30k PPP book that went for $20k.
  12. the 7.5 should go for around $240k, and the 5.0 for around $150k. Prices seem a bit weak, though. So I'm guessing $195k and $125k Cap 3 looks about right: $32k for a 5.0
  13. With just an hour to go, those Caps should be lords a leapin' any minute here . . .
  14. I guess I can understand this point, and Yes I see it time and again, but it about makes me crazy. Makes me not want to upgrade
  15. Right. Along with All Winners 11, if memory serves. All 3 are great!
