I’ve noticed that, unlike CC and Heritage auctions, the Clink books I track don’t have a big jump at the end. That said, there are a number of big books whose prices are still way low. If there’s no gas left in the tank, I once again will be the accidental owner of some books. Half of me hopes I get them, and half says “not again!”

Right. But in trying to fix the “no dot”, the printer put it in the wrong place, and DC must at that point have said “oh, just screw it some things aren’t meant to be”. this was the prevailing view of the board last time this controversy came up

I got into this discussion previously, and I think the prevailing wisdom here on the boards was the “.no dot” version came first, and had a much smaller print run than the subsequent “dot” version

Do collectors often reset or start over?

I didn't recognize it, so it's yours. My favorite Louis CK quote is "Dinner's not over when I'm full. Dinner is over when I hate myself" I know off topic, couldn't control myself -

Captain America Comics 1 9.8 Allentown Pedigree

Probably. But the subject was interesting enough that it got run to ground right here, and I would never have bothered reading over there -

Pardon my ignorance, but Eric Roberts, the actor? -
Changing the subject a bit, did anyone watch the Heritage weekly auction? an Archie 1, blue label 3.0, went for only $20k, including buyer premium. Doesn’t that seem low? I think it’s low. With the other big auctions it must have just flown under the radar. or do you think it’s the dried glue? https://comics.ha.com/itm/golden-age-1938-1955-/humor/archie-comics-1-archie-1942-cgc-gd-vg-30-off-white-to-white-pages/a/122007-15078.s

I’m glad you posted this. I’ll reread the responses a few times. i consolidated into 10 big comics with the idea that these are such pinnacle books that I could never want for more. Well of course I wanted for more. I’m constantly, and I mean CONSTANTLY, considering getting rid of the lot and replacing them with one a single book, but so far have been frozen into inaction. Meanwhile, the enthusiasm on the boards for certain genres has taken hold of me, so in the last few years, I’ve picked up smaller books here and there: maybe an LB Cole cover, maybe a romance Matt Baker cover, I’m up to maybe 20 slabs now. I look at every big auction that comes along, and as I spot a new treasure, the 3 dimensional chess game begins anew in my head. if I had a lick of sense, I’d just leave it alone and take up collecting a small silver spoon from every state.
