  1. I love the cover to Showcase 22, but Kane sounds like a bit of a prima donna. Nodell created a classic cover in Cap 74, for which I’m grateful
  2. That’s a stout price for a 3.5. I haven’t seen too many of them come to market in the last year
  3. I thought we learned from the Promise books the ones on the spine side would be ruled to be bindery tears/chips and not counted off
  4. my copy is entombed, and I cannot find an image of the inside front cover anywhere on the internet. You've got the back cover right, but that's the easy one. Hope somebody can help
  5. The auction ended last night, and since it was Clink, the link went “poof”. It hammered for $12,450 or thereabouts

  8. Perhaps I misunderstood. I took you to say there’s people who turn up their noses at those who spend big on pulps. Maybe it was the balenciaga sneakers that threw me
  9. I harbor no disdain for those who pay large prices for pulps, and I guess I didn't realize there were those who did. I've started into them myself. I will add my personal observation that they are a world different from comic books. The lurid cover is about all there is, but that's enough for me. The illustrations inside are sparse. And since the stories inside are fairly random, there's only a few noteworthy pulps, to me at least. Others likely have a higher sophistication level on the subject, and I will gladly step aside . . .
  10. @Cat-Man_America, you’re suggesting old back issue comic stores gave rise to our current LCSs? Interesting (along with the rest of your historical perspective)
  11. This is what I want to see when I walk into a convention. but what I actually see nowadays is this . . .
  12. Almost all Cap 74s have weird wraps and cuts to them, just goes with the territory
  13. Ah, the Cap 74. Such a great book, and I know it went for heavy gold. To me, the Promise books are unusual in how clean the back covers are. Congratulations! With that many to choose from, It must have been difficult deciding which Promise Timelys to go after
