wait what? MCS will submit things to CGC for you? How does that work? I wasn't aware that was a thing?
I’ve had CC do it. I imagine they all will if you ask. They will deduct the cost from your bottom line sale

Has anyone ever won a book in a Heritage auction, then a few days later, received an e-mail from Heritage that there would be a delay in sending the book because it had to be sent back to CGC? With no other explanation?
No. My guess would be a case got cracked while in their possession, but it’s a “who knows”. Have you tried calling customer service?

CC now charge a Bidder's Premium on some auctions. They started a couple of years ago and I know a few sellers who stopped selling through them because of it.
So it's a misnomer that Heritage only charges a buying premium these days.
At this time Clink is the only auction house that doesn't.
That surprises me. I thought it was the sellers demanding the premium so they pocketed more. Why would they stop because of that? I still sold my Bat 1 thru CC; I just didn’t ask for a Buyers Premium

Happened to me on a book. I had no idea until other boardies pointed it out

Looks like it’s Mask 1 and Matt Baker that lifted the genre
-
That last chart is perfecto @MasterChief
since “horror” and “adventure” appear to be the only genres whose value went up the second time around, I too am curious what titles comprise “adventure”

It's not so much that. Just irks me Baker's name is (still) misattributed to something he didn't draw, using his name to jack up the worth even more.
Good discussion/breakdown revolving around it here

Not sure about other boardies' opinions here, but what say you as to which is the stronger auction result here......................this CL 6.0 copy of Mask 1 that sold for $27,761 or the CC 7.5 copy of Mask 1 that sold for $54,625 only last Thursday:
They were both good prices, IMO, but especially the 6.0. I thought the 6.0 presented better than Bobby Blue’s 7.5. Considering Heritage sold a 5.5 for $24k in 2019, and then resold the exact same 5.5 in 4/22 for the exact same price of $24k, I’m left to wonder if prices on midgrade 1s have stopped rising on this book, at least for now(in answer to the actual title of this thread). On the other hand, Mask 2 seems to be still on the move

I’m not a Sub-Mariner guy, but I really considered 14. That depicts D Day on the cover, and I can’t believe it gets no special recognition on the label or in the value. This should be a breakout book

Thanks guys. That's 1 reason why I posted - to make sure I understood it. I was just in awe of watching it climb. I watched the SST go from $16k bid by bid until the end.
I wonder if that makes my Mask 5.5 worth a few $'s more. I'm not gonna find out... just fun to think. More coming up soon too.
That’s funny. I got a 5.5 too. Such an odd grade

Schomburgs did well in the recent CC auction

As @Professor K had correctly posted, the numbers you are seeing ALREADY INCLUDES the 15% BP juice in there.
So, the Mask 1 hammered at $47,500 with a final price of $54,625 while the STT 11 hammered at $29K with a final price of $33,350 which I would tend to say are both very strong prices given the condition grades.
It’s actually not such a bad price for the buyer(I think the $54k price tag includes the 15% commission). What with the recent guide increases, it’s only 2.8 or 2.9 times guide. Compare that to Bakers, that routinely go for 20 - 30 times guide. Still, I don’t think the marketplace is done testing Mask 1. As someone above observed, Mask 1s seem to all of a sudden be showing up on the market, probably in part due to aforesaid recent OPG price increases. We will see how well the market can absorb them all

On the other hand, there may still be some deals to be had. For example, this copy of New Fun 5, which has the earliest GGA cover, is still sitting at a measly $1,300, which is way below its FMV:

For you, Richard, Heritage is demanding a higher grade. They probably feel what with the Astros and all you could use the break
