  1. I'll be at Booth 3818 so same location as last year. I'm bringing 7 new long boxes of recent comic purchases that are mostly 1940's - 1960's Dell and Gold Key type comics. Should be close to 2000 comics. No bags or boards or much organization. Just like an old school comic con and all priced $5 each. I know this won't appeal to signature series geeks but for 50+ crowd we love this stuff! I will not do any sales out of these boxes for early birds so if you get to my table early on Friday when show opens you should score some cool comics! I had planned on taking these to C2E2 but at last minute I realized that C2E2 doesn't provide tables for booths so comics came out of van and tables went in. Some pics below. Leroy
  2. Andy sorry it didn't work out as it's rare that I'm ready to sell anything on setup day. I like to focus on getting my booth ready and whenever the first person ask when I'll be ready to sell I give them a time usually the next morning and I stick to it 100% no matter who it is. This actually works out for a lot of pickers as they can prey on other dealers knowing I'm not selling to anyone. I had Tom Nelson waiting at my booth at 8:45 patiently waiting until my 9 am pre show sales on Fri morning. Another dealer started going through my comic boxes and I told him I'd be open at 9 and he said it's only a $10 comic . I explained I had already told several others that I was going to open at 9 and I need to stick to it. He shoved the comic back in disgust and left. Me and Tom got a nice laugh from it. It was nice to meet junkdrawer and 1Cool for the first time and I thank them for the purchases. Friday was my best day for sales, Saturday crowds were insane and we were swamped 90% of the day. Sunday was kinda chill out time until load out which is very difficult. I had my helper get in line at 3:30 and at 6:45 he finally got on show floor. Tax man said I need to sell a comic out of my collection so Saturday JLA 1 CGC 8.5 was sacrificed. Not that GPA will report it but I was asking $18K and sold it for $17.5K. I subbed 42 comics and was satisfied with most of the grades. Some of my CGC sales were AF 15 CGC .5 incomplete (missing part of ad page), Bat 232 CGC 9.4, X-men 94 CGC 9.0, SS 4 CGC 9.4, Iron Man 55 CGC 9.4, Hulk 181 CGC 9.0, B&B 54 CGC 8.0, ASM 2 CGC 5.0, ASM 300 CGC 9.8, Marv Prem 15 CGC 9.0, Rifleman 10 CGC 8.5, DD 1 CGC 3.5, Flash 123 CGC 5.0, ASM 129 CGC 9.0
  3. Greggy was bummed out in Baltimore that I didn't have my free candy. He's one of my best free candy customers.
  4. Just like last year I should be setup next to comics4less. I'll have comics and free candy.
  5. Going to this once so if it falls to page 2 this book quits traveling the globe and returns home. I know we are all used to text and pics when we read but this is a quick read and very interesting. Just say and it will get sent to you and in 30 days you ship to whoever is next.
  6. My Tec 29 is on page 73 posted by Shrunkenhead on Aug 23 2012.
  7. It's interesting to start at page 1 of this thread from 2010. A lot of the pictures are gone but several are not. I wonder who can chime in and say I still have mine or mine are all gone. From the pictures Andre had some killer comics.
  8. I've actually had a couple of transactions with him on the boards and all went well. I remember the Tec 37 7.0 (Larson) selling $23,800 last September on Clink and thought it went cheap. Also a 6.0 sold in Dec for $21K and with what just happened with these type comics you can't blame a guy trying to strike while the iron is hot. I would think that the 3.0 Tec 29 that just sold for $66K makes my 3.5 Tec 29 that I bought less than 4 months ago for $40K more valuable. Much like the Tec 38 selling on comicconnect then the Tec 38 on Highgradecomics.com selling right after that auction. Mr. Storms in my opinion is one of the best in the hobby but it seems we have certain comics in the hobby that best be left to auction. A lot of serious transactions happen on eBay and the websites like High Grade etc but it seems even these places slip through the cracks with people that exclusively deal with the big 3 auction companies otherwise how do you explain the Tec 38 selling at auction for $54K when one in same grade is to be had with click of a mouse for much less. My
  9. I'll be back at my same location as last year. I'm setup in same island as comics4less by entrance. I have a ton of fresh inventory for my $5 and under boxes. I mostly carry silver & bronze. Leroy
  10. I'm even more happy now with my 29 3.5 purchase last Dec. The 29 3.0 that sold tonight has been discussed how the eye appeal is off the charts for the grade but I've wondered if at some point it had color touch removed. I notice a lot of white at bottom 3" of spine and the long white streak in the middle of Batman that mostly on the black of the cape. The line on the cape almost blends in and can be easily overlooked.
  11. On the Tec 29 CGC 3.0 it just went over $60K. Is someone thinking they can squeeze a 5.0 out of this?
  12. I paid $8500 for my 2.0 #36 (now 2.5 after removing extra staples) last April. Either I paid too much or you sold cheap. I bet you're mistaken on that price if it was a nice 3.0 #36. I could see a nice 3.0 #37 last year selling for that.
  13. Look for it to not be showing up in my sig line. Nice sale so congrats to both parties involved. That's serious money for a funny book.
  14. the time to sell any Pre Robin Detectives. Yes buy them before they go even higher. Yes just wait and watch. Yes but then in a couple years you may ask yourself why did I wait. My even though I wasn't asked by name.
  15. Grandpa would never hold the comic correctly!.
  16. Yes. I'm Leroy Harper and I'm addicted to Pre-Robin Detective Batman covers. I can't help it. I constantly overpay and the darn things keep going up in value.
  17. Beautiful! Leave them be or crack them both and let the interior rest inside the cover with a mylar. No need to ever attach IMO. Congrats!!!!
  18. Absolutely! If I bought it my sig line would only have this 1 comic as everything else would be gone to make the purchase.
