  1. I forget the point system but I had three bullseyes and was under by 0.5 on the Shocking Mystery Cases and over by 0.5 on the ASM. I’m happy!
  2. So…am I right in saying that this Daredevil, despite still being played by Cox, will have no ties or history or connections drawn from his Netflix series? And that in all likelihood most character actors from the Netflix show will be recast?
  3. The 80s are consistently good at both marvel and certain DC titles I love 60s and 70s Marvel…not at all for DC with the exception of DC horror and war during that time Anything Golden Age war, western, horror and NOT Batman or Superman interests me
  4. This is why I will never do private signings. If I need an autograph I’ll get it in person so I can see it leave my hands, get signed and then get returned to me.
  5. I’m interested to see what the announcements at this weeks upcoming SDCC panels do for some books. Not as someone who invests but just to compare to the last couple years. I’m willing to bet it causes some sales of certain books but I will be stunned to see any particular book get more than a 15-20% bump at the highest. I think collectors and newer collectors have learned….maybe not though ya never know!
  6. I think mine is a 5.0 at best Yours is better…no major song along top edge. A 5.5-6.0 would not surprise me, and I think 6.5 is best case scenario
  7. First off.... SPOILERSSSS I consider myself a pretty big fan of the show. Season 1 was great. Season 2 was a slog. Season 3 was corny but it all worked for me and this current Season was their best. The problem I have (and I know the Duffer bros had planned all along for 5 seasons) is that I really do not see how you follow up season 4 with a finale that could have been better than Season 4. What I mean is, they could have ended the show in this season, defeating Vecna and all reuniting and continuing on with life (they could have done away with a lot of smaller romantic subplots by killing off a couple people or even resolving a couple of those plots). Now though, they have to follow this up with a finale that is better? I am skeptical. I am sure they will do it but will it be enjoyable? Or this enjoyable? That is where I have my doubts. I don't foresee another Eddie type character becoming as beloved, or even another "Running Up The Hill" moment...it just seemed to all click with this season. Final thought....apparently the Duffer brothers have an idea for a spinoff that they have not even told Netflix about. However, Finn has guessed this supposed spinoff (meaning he has mentioned it in passing, or at some point over the years). I am curious what it could be. My guess would be Kali (from the episode or two in Season 2 where El goes to the city and learns how to control her powers from a girl previously experimented on by the same people) and her backstory? They never did explain how Kali escaped or any of her backstory really so maybe they dive into her in some way....again, I fail to see how that could ever live up to what Stranger Things is though.
  8. I was a little harsh myself thinking 4.5-5.0 but seems 5.0-5.5 is the majority view here which is perfect. It will likely go in with the next submission, thanks all!
  9. Also…and this is just a me thing…I don’t trust my books being pressed by a guy who wears a flat brimmed hat and says things in videos like “it’s your boy…” This generation of pressers, many of whom emerged around 2016/17, use the cheaper equipment generally and try to move fast. Quick pressing…when to get the best results, a book may need several presses. Their results can vary and they tend to have a handle on 2000s to now books but with older stuff, they rush and don’t put the patience in.
  10. Look…I don’t know Spineworks at all but let me tell you this. They formed in 2020 and claim to have been pressing for over 5 years. I’m not saying you can’t become good in that time but I’m betting they like many are swamped and it’s possible they messed up. Plus if their presses are newer presses that involve moisture of any kind, that could have played a role. I would get a second opinion from a company/person who has been pressing and in the comic business for longer than those two. My two cents
  11. EBay buy. Felt the price was right. Staples and centrefold tight. Spine ticks and some top edge wear plus on the back, the blue distributor ink overspray. I appreciate all thoughts!
  12. I saw that! Def always been intrigued by Goon i forgot to photograph this too which I needed! Thanks!
  13. Yes! This too, especially somewhere on the interior art
  14. Reality: Is CGC not giving out 9.8 books like they used to? Yes Also reality: Do a lot of younger collectors expect 9.8 books and think everything with a clean cover is an automatic 9.8? Also yes
  15. Cleaning and pressing a 9.6 book does not make it turn into a 9.8 book. Your 9.6 books are 9.6 because of some minute flaw. Would it be nice to know what that flaw is? Sure. But CGC doesn’t have time to notate it all. My guess is a minute bend, soft corner, light bit of edge wear or small scuff somewhere. Or and this is where people forget that they grade the entire book, perhaps a minute interior tear or bend
  16. You guys mean you don’t munch a submarine sandwich while reading your comics and then chuck em in a box when you are done? And before you dis my lack of organization…I can tell which books are where by the mustard stains, thank you very much Ive stored these books like this for decades and they look the same to me
  17. That crease on back (kinda hard to see) will hurt. 5.5-6.0 from me. Without the crease I think 7.0-8.0 would have been possible
  18. 4.0-4.5 I dont see a press doing anything to bump it higher. Weak looking spine and creases keep it out of Fine territory
  19. I would respect CGC and regard them as the undisputed number 1 company in the biz if they did a submission freeze for 2-3 months, caught up and trained enough people so that, come fall, they could resume regular operations with a tip top staff that prevented these errors so that they happened less than 2% of the time and had turnaround times that made sense. A man can dream...can't he?
