  1. Pressers are providing a service requested by the owner of the book so I don't see how they are 'greedy' Heat & Humidity aren't permanently added to the book like tape or color markers etc so I don't quite get that one either. Pressure is also applied which obviously isn't permanently added either. What if I just stack a couple dictionaries on top of a book for a while? Or place a comic on the bottom of a large stack of other comics?
  2. I have several i'd love to get graded. I have asked them and as others have said, the answer is no. Take some good pics and put them on the spare a grade forum.
  3. Looks similar to mine which also had a crease. 9.0
  4. Due to a completely detached cover, I'd guess you'd be around a 2.5-3.0 GoCollect puts that around $350
  5. My NE Philly theater was the Orleans. Just a 2 block walk
  6. Dog story to let you know the types of things you may be in store for - My overly large Golden (pic below) was around 2 yrs old at the time. I was slicing up a ham with an electric knife and had about 7 slices on the plate. So I walked over and placed it on the kitchen table and went back by the oven to slice some more. As I was slicing I hear the sound of ceramic rattling. I look over my shoulder and he's up on his hind legs with the tips of his front paws scraping the plate as he's trying to drag the plate over. I hesitate for a second before putting the knife down and heading over to the table. But in that moment he got enough of the plate to scoop up all 7 pieces. So I grabbed him by the collar, pulled him over to his crate and tossed him into it. That caused all the pieces to fall out of his mouth which forced me to lean into the cage and quickly pull him out of it before he got a hold of them again. Good luck with your situation & congrats on the rugrat.
  7. Young teenager in a packed movie theater watching Jaws. I still remember the collective audience reactions like it was just 1 giant person . You can't get that watching at home on the couch.
  8. I use the scanner at work which can accommodate the size and handle raised material like a comic in a case. On the bad side, I usually have to get in 6am to do it
  9. This was 1 order where all were submitted to CGC under the same tier for grading and pressing? If so I would think that they would all come back together.
  10. are those books pictured yours or just ones you found while researching? Anyway appreciate the effort - that info should help the OP.
  11. being the only one out of my whole collection to have a sig, I did send it to the 'other company' and it did get verified. Before doing that I was able to get one of their executives who was a sig collector to give an opinion and he thought it was legit too. Anyway, having bought the book ~ 1980 in the back issue bins, I wouldn't think there'd be that many fake sigs at that time. I still remember being thrilled at the time when I got home and opened it up to read it.
  12. gonna go 4.5 due to hat chipping down the front right edge for comparison purposes, here's a Kirby sig I found inside a Demon 1 I bought decades ago (had a few knowledgeable people look at it and they all thought it looked legit)

  14. looks like a NCB small crease on the back cover spine side and some marks by the back top staple and the top of the back cover. 9.4
  15. looks tad better than that Green Lantern 1 I just guessed 2.0 on, but it seems close enough to it so I'll stick with 2.0
  16. Have always been a fan of Mike Grell's work! Happy reading!
  17. Sometimes you can catch purple/green sales on Ebay though admittedly it can take a lot of looking. I have a purple X-Men 94 in 7.0 shape and saw a couple sales on Ebay which corresponded to what 5.5 Blues were going for
  18. I'd want 1984 for the spectacle of it. It's be a great opening scene of the planet assembling itself
  19. Going thru this now. I know I have a New Mutants 1; I remember bagging/boarding it last year when I bought new bags/boards. I have it in my spreadsheet as in box X and not marked sold. I certainly don't remember selling it. I've gone thru all my boxes now 3 times and no sign of it. I'm determined to keep going thru them until I somehow find it. Not worried about the value of it - more for just peace of mind.
