  1. My understanding is it already is considered a legitimate art form in europe.
  2. all for it - just hope he never touches another marvel movie- ever!
  3. The Dentist Dave A has a high grade copy we talked on the phone around 1982-1985 and he had just got the book when i got mine. I have not been in contact with since the 80s when i was selling on the CBG but i (think) he has a copy that would grade 9.2 but thats just hear say . I have heard there was a 9.2 or better out there and that book would break it all. I believe Dave has the Allentown tec 27 Isn't the alleged grade on it NM to NM+? Ya thats what he told me back in the 80s NM/M .The way things were back then was Bob overstreet has the best Timely coll out there and E Gerber was as close to Pedigee there was. i don't quite understand the gerber comment please clarify.
  4. I think the vulture could be cool especially if they just make him an extraordinary thief spidey rounds up instead of a typical world/city threatening plot. Those are a little redundant even if they are an essential part of superhero mythos it would be nice to see something a little more down to earth which i think spidey is good at.
  5. What I thought was strange was an Old asian man wasn't minority enough? Can't count on all my fingers how many strong female characters have been in superhero movies conversely can't think of a single asian male character off the top of my head. Maybe sunfire was in an X movie I haven't seen all of those. that's what struck me... a white lady replace a potential Asian actor..oh well. It kinda fits the social experiment we see in media today. White male taking orders from women and racial minorities and/ getting kicked by such or cowering before them. Must beg on the floor for a woman to teach him the arts? I guess we will see in about 20 years the effect this has on society if any when todays children become adults. In any event it was a missed opportunity to include a very cool asian character.
  6. .... that means that you have by now noticed the date stamp on the first page..... which predates any of the earliest estimates of when this book first appeared on the stands..... nothing conclusive, mind you, but still kind of neat. The gloss, color, and PQ on that book are extraordinary..... it deserves it's freedom. GOD BLESS.... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) Love the early date stamps. What is the date on that copy? Here's my #2 - Feb 14, 1963 Not a big date stamp guy myself but when they are this neat and clear they are pretty cool. also neato that jim remembered it
  7. The big difference is that the outer plastic is recessed from the edges, which brings the plastic much closer to the book. I'm guessing that's what reduces the glare (although I only have two examples so far). Here's the other (non River City ) that I had reholdered: The new holder looks interesting. I wanted to see on in person at ECCC but didn't see any. Was thinking about picking up a copy of this book. How are the stories in this one? Average for the run or better?

  9. I wondered about her death it seemed a little bit off. The actress who plays Laurel can't even handle the fighting moves she looks clumsy compared to the other characters. This show also suffers a massive overdose of small world syndrome which i personally hate. First it was just arrow as a hero who can fight like the devil now both his ex-girlfriends and his sister kick too. Its a little overkill for me.Oh and lets not forget his best friends dad is a deadly assassin and speedy's boyfriend becomes a super strong hero /villain for awhile as well. I was willing to live with these flaws because Arrows struggle against evil was pretty good overall. Until this season. Darkh never intrigued me at all. Malcolm has become a guy who is just a schemer but can no longer go head to head against Oliver. Even before he lost his hand it had become a mismatch and i think they would have been better served if Malcolm had remained capable of defeating arrow physically. One of the worst parts was Felicity telling arrow she loved him but she couldn't marry him because someday someone would get leverage on him and force him to lie to her again. That is beyond inane. Just a sad ploy to create more cooked drama and tension between the two. No one who is crazy about someone calls it off because they fearful a third party will force a measure of dishonesty "someday". I mean she shoulda just asked him if he loved her and have him reply "duh" and that would be better writing imo. I just no longer enjoy the show and only tuned in to see laurel kick the bucket before quitting it. Maybe if they get things fixed I'll catch up on it again through amazon but until then I'm out.
  10. Season 1 : very good Season 2 : awesome- deathstroke best tv superhero villain ever Season 3 : good - although death stroke> ras Season 4 : suuuuux badly - Damien Darkh is lame, Laurel sux, felicity reason for not marrying beyond ridiculous , only good thing was killing laurel I am done with this show now. Luckily flash is still good in fact reverse flash gives death stroke a run for his money and prof zoom is no slouch either. Just wish they would come up with better enemies for filler episodes as some of those are lame.
  11. Exactly- if they can pull off the dark dimension as well as they did Asgard I will be happy but I think the dark realm is an even bigger challenge.
  12. looks good for a start. I hope they nail the dark dimension. Thats very important to me.
  13. Cool that will make your discussions if you choose to have any very agreeable however it will require a high degree of flexibilty from one conversation to the next but you should be fine and find it enjoyable providing one of those pesky trolls doesn't show up and quote your contradictions ad nauseum.
  14. Just goes to show from now Batman is number one. Detective Comics 27 and Batman #1 are the new kings with Captain America #1 kicking at their heels. Who knows Action #1 could fall to number 4 now because of the collectors and mainstreams perception of Superman in BVS. don't hold your breath.....Tec 27 maybe. batman 1 and cap 1 not happening-ever.
  15. That really is a very nice copy for a 4.5. Looks like the cover is mostly devoid of creasing does need a better scan though. I have always favored the rainbow bridge cover of JIM 88 but its easy to see why this cover is so iconic and thought of as the best in the run by many. When i buy a new book i often copy the scan from the site it was listed on. Saves a lot of work. Bought this copy from worldwide a few years ago:
  16. Paging JIMJUM! I have liberated your copy of ASM 4. It sits proudly in my collection now as a copy with no need of upgrade!
  17. cool book Harry!. Nicer than my copy by a little bit. Definitely a minor key issue in the run.
  18. Here is a sharp copy worthy to be in most collections:
  19. Didn't Zaid say he was going to keep us updated about that debacle? And remember when Dupcake's ( alleged former girlfriend ) showed up and started saying he trimmed books etc. And what did ever happen to Roboblow and his endless swarm of high grade key books? We need some answers around here. The case ended up settling. The litigation took so long - gotta love the NYC Family Court system - that the "minor" child aged out and turned 21. It wasn't the result I wanted but it was a fair one under the circumstances that befell us. And I do believe the litigation helped favorably modify his comic book behavior, at least for the time being. At one point he was using the alias Dr. Richard Koos. Does anyone know what his current whereabouts and/or alias is?
  20. Would 773M adjust to 800M with inflation from 2014 to 2016? Either way, Dawn of Justice will make millions more beyond 783M. The end result doesn't project to be much different between the two films. So as I said, "Guardians of the Galaxy level" success = not "Avengers level" success. Has to be a huge disappointment for WB considering its DC's big 3 versus a cast of marvel unknowns. Still time to recover regarding the future DC line of movies imo but I agree with other posters Snyder has to go.
  21. It just passed GOTG by about 5 mil GOTG had a 170 mil budget compared to i blelieve $250 for BVS and i think BVS spent a lot more on marketing
  22. Just made a few comments above about your thoughts. I somewhat enjoyed the movie although the pacing and build up was off for me. I think I was insulated a little by the fact I don't have strong feelings for the characters being a marvel zombie myself.
