  1. After seeing so many of these recently I've noticed the slightly inappropriate positioning of both Sue's right hand and her brother's indulgent pose. Who is really the Frightful Four here? Keep in mind staring in widows like that can get you arrested! This is your comics hobby we are discussing Harry not that "other" hobby of yours-stay focused ! Just so you know kiddies you shouldn't try this at home!
  2. recently purchased that issue to complete my run but still haven't read it. In fact i got a beautiful copy from Comicana but forgot to snap up their scan before it dosappeared. as much as I would love to show it off - too lazy today.
  3. Here is my bargain basement completist collectors special- newsstand colors and gloss- beautiful copy - Formerly CGC 8.5 Qualified(coupon missing does not affect story) - purchased for $51 in 2002
  4. All too often over the years I have made a great purchase from a seller nice enough to have me stoked for the next purchase only to have the second deal be looser graded and priced more agressively. That is not the case with Ed! I just purchased 22 raw silver age x-men that are everything you hope for in a comic deal A+A+A+ for this Ed gets the royal treatment:
  5. One of my favorite all time spidey stories is #6. I enjoy that story so much i almost wish That the lizard was a one shot and they never made another issue about him as no other story comes close! Still if that was the case I would never have gotten to own this :
  6. can it also be that despite a seriously great Kirby cover this book has a story that falls short? I know if I have choice which marvel key to actually read avengers 1 is pretty low on the list.
  7. I thought his redemption was when he raised his hands to the sky as a free man. Kind of like a God set him free kind of moment. He was sent to his own personal hell and triumphed over it and the architects of his torture were brought down in the process.
  8. Dang, you have some very nice books in your collection. Thank you! Been at it a long time. I guess its the result of perseverance!
  9. everyone likes ff 40! Gorgeous book! Indeed! I just looked at mine. Its a very nice presenting 4.5! After looking at it today and grading it VG+ i checked my records i bought it 14 years ago on ebay as a 6.0/6.5 and graded it all the way back then as a 4.5 so if nothing else at least i am consistent. Have to give this book another read. I only read it once and it didn't make much of an impression on me but being as KirbyJack likes it so much I'll give it another read soon.
  10. I like it. Great cover but I just don't think it's among the very best. Mostly though I just wanna (smashes beer can on head) - preferably a rumble like in anchorman.
  11. I have been guilty in the past of falling into the easy "The FF is best from 44 to 67" rut; but those issues are just as good despite the Colletta inks. Anybody who says Fantastic Four 40 isn't among the very best can discuss it with me in a dark alley. On my way
  12. ne excuses - I want a copy on my desk by noon tomorrow Parker! no excuses offered---parker has one...
  13. This one slipped past me while I was looking up GPA figures. By the time I put my bid in, the timer had expired! I did manage to pick up the #6 and the #10 though. Suhweet! Most likely woulda just cost me more money as i was in way over the final bid. Have held off on this book for many years as it is not one of my favorites but i felt this was a chance to own a presentable midgrade which often have a sour appearance due to the white cover. Now I need only 12 more books to own 1-66 and GSX1 + 94-142! 6 &10 are better issues imo anyway. although I still feel there is a reason even Roy Thomas and Neal Adams superb work couldn't save the series by the late 60's. It just doesn't measure up to the FF or spidey at all.
  14. ne excuses - I want a copy on my desk by noon tomorrow Parker!
  15. nice clean copy i just picled up from the last link auction- strong colors!
  16. Nice spidey 16 straw! it smokes mine now lets see the #5 you promised
  17. I just wish his 1st appearance was in a timely issue in 1942! Just imagine pre-code gore with those claws fighting street to street, house to house, close quarters combat with the Nazi's and the japanese!
  18. yesterday i received spideys 88,89,&105 from Foolkiller. This completes my amazing spider-man run of 1-137 To celebrate I will post a copy of what is probably my favorite book in the run- I just love the story plus the way Ditko drew all the gadgets in this one. Not to mention #5 is the first single digit spidey I ever owned! got a 4.5-5.0 at a convntion in seattle in 1999! This copy has moved on from my collection but i am just too lazy to scan either of my remaining copies -
  19. 2 of the very best the marvel age has to offer! I hope you own 59&60! If not once you read the two you have I'm betting it won't be long before you get the other two!
  20. Lovely book ent! Funny when I was a kid 122 was the bigger book and even though I love both covers I think 122 is my favorite. Hope you have a copy to pair with this gem!
  21. snow white pages on this gem Originaly bought this book from Bob Storms in june 2003 as CGC 8.5 white pages(old Label). Paid a premium at the time and have never regretted it!
