  1. I change my mind and do this fairly often...they don't charge your credit card usually until the submission goes into "schedule for grading' phase...But if you (Dan Castle) already sent it..there is nothing that can be done..they wont change it. They say this explicitly on their website and I have asked them before..they gave me a resounding 'NO, we won't change or cancel orders"..the only exception is if you sent in just to press and changed your mind about grading...they will work with you to submit (for grading) a press only original order..or at least they used to..maybe they dont anymore
  2. Curious, are all these books keys or do you ever do 'lots' at MCS? and if so, what has been your experience?
  3. I sell my CGC's and some ASM issues on mycomicshop.com for consignment...have never been disappointed and I don't have to deal with buyers
  4. a little disappointed in the grade (probably the staining on the front cover lower left pushed the grade down...hardly noticed it but they did)
  5. I had my 3 book submission under "Express" graded and encapsulated 3 days after they received it, which was annoying because I planned my vacation around the 17 day turnaround. But post office kept it safe in thier safe for ten days. Meanwhile, still waiting on several signatures which are about to reach the expected turnaround time by the end of the week.
  6. Avoid Ebay(my 2 cents worth).... the way they charge fees will only make you mad. They changed the way you place items in your store and it's a huge mess and way too time consuming..not that some people don't have success on Ebay..it's just not for the faint of heart. And then there are the nightmare customers that seem to stalk ebay. Anything that has a value over 50 dollars you would be better off sending to mycomicshop and let them consign it for you. I have had great success with them. But if you want to sell them yourself, some of the suggestions regarding FB groups and the like are pretty good.
  7. I have seen comic sellers who usually only sell CGC slabs sometimes sell raws with top to bottom creases...and later I found out why. They know the maximum grade CGC will give (5.0) and I guess they think they can get more as a raw.
  8. 5-6..first glance it would seem like an 8.0...but with closer inspection I can see quite a few dings. The spine has some significant color breaks and wear. The bottom two corners have creases/wear, obviously. I mean it's a nice flat copy but the flaws add up. Nice white pages
  9. CGC got back to me and I can send them back free shipping and reholdering....but given the wait times for reholdering ..I just dont know. I slept on it and I think I will just live with it. It's not as bad as some others I have seen from previous threads that Lightning 55 suggested viewing
  10. So, how do scuff marks like this pass quality control?... especially on paying express prices. Maybe you pay CGC to look at it faster and less thorough. These are fairly pronounced scuff marks too and seem to be on the inside of the slab. I am asking CGC about it, but I probably won't like their answer so for now I am just venting. (If this is the incorrect thread then notify the admin, I am not certain)
  11. agreed, they seem to downgrade on average by 0.5 to 1.0 point..especially in grades lower than 5.0
