  1. With a book like that, a scan would really help. There can be a bunch of things going on with the spine and corners that I can't tell from the pics. Could be anywhere between 8.5 and 9.2
  2. There is staining in the back right? If so, then anywhere between 4.0 and 5.0
  3. Between 5.0 and 6.0, could go either way. A press won't help bump the grade. But if you do plan on selling it, then not having pressed gives you the bonus of saying "book was not pressed" when you list it.
  4. From what I understand, graders are made unaware of where the book comes from, nor the value one listed, nor if it was recently cracked out of a CBCS or even CGC holder. Those cracking the comic are not those regrading it.
  5. They wont since there are no customs fees when an individual, like you, sends any kind of mail to the US. What you should do next time though is write that the item is "to be returned".
  6. Could go 4.5 or 5.0. A press could help ensure it's a 5.0 by removing that crease near Ben Grimm.
  7. these are just fan art based on the trailer I think. We haven't seen Riddler's final look in the film.
  8. I don't think this is new, I've been noticing stuff like this ever since the MCU got big. Where else do you sell?
  9. Where do you see these extra fees? Did you receive a bill by e-mail or in physical mail? If you paid by credit card, then call your credit card company and say that people are fraudulently charging your card. You did not agree to these charges.
  10. There is nothing that can be done for this book to get a higher grade. It isn't rare so restoring it would work against you. If you want a better grades copy, best scenario is to sell this one and use that money for a better copy.
  11. Just move on from this. Also, when shipping an item, make sure that the address you ship to is the one you see in PayPal. Or else you are no longer covered.
  12. Cleaning it to remove dust with dry erasers would be ok and would not count as restoration. BUT having a chemical bath given to a comic to remove stains and grime would be considered restoration. And I highly recommend you dont restore your comics if you want to preserve the value.
  13. You usually get the full kit of cleaning and pressing. Some third party presses may just offer one or the other but I have yet to see any. Anyways, you are better off getting the full kit . it's relatively cheap and opting for a press helps in case some slight creases happen during shipping and handling of this comic when being cleaned.
  14. I know. Forgive me for trying to make the OP feel a bit better about the whole thing.
  15. Also, as stated elsewhere today, cgc had different standards then so grading may not be as strict for certain defects (like light staining). So the pros and cons of old labels end up cancelling out.
  16. I wouldn't call this a loss. Your purchase made it to the GPA, so you paid fair market value. You could always sell it for the same price.
  17. Technically, if everyone's carefull from the comic's production to it being put on shelves, they would all be 9.8. Hence why you could press a 9.6 modern into a 9.8.
  18. The colour breaks are your biggest issue here and a press won't help them. Pretty sure this book would come back 9.2 if sent in today.
  19. Well CBCS was founded by earlier members of the CGC team so it makes sense that they would keep their initial grading standards and why older slabbed cgc books and currents slabbed cbcs books have similar grading criteria.
