  1. 100% any comic with cut out part is given a 0.5 grade. That is my only issue with mycomicshop which will still give a 2.0 grade to a comic with cut out coupon.
  2. I would not grade above 9.2 if selling raw, for sure.
  3. It make sense it got blue since Blue will still be given to a book in the condition you describe.
  4. Excellent question, would be best to ask in the "ask cgc forum".
  5. Nope, only buy those if you intend on keeping them as is and not sending them for grading. that's why they havent been snatched up, nobody thought they could make money out of them.
  6. If you want to only collect things that have a quantifiable worth and can grow over time, then yes signed comics would be a waste for you. Doesnt matter if they have a signed certificate or whatever, your signed comic has to be in a yellow label CGC case or else it's not part of the market where you can follow it's worth as a signed comic.
  7. Then that answers the question, don't buy them. Because that decent money is only on universal and yellow label 9.8s. if you send this to CGC you will get a green label and thus your product will not be counted as part of the same market as the 9.8s you look at. These are not meant to be sent in for grading. That's why they havent been snatched up yet. If you think there is a chance they go up over time, then you are way better off buying a comic that is already graded 9.8 now. One important thing to remember, rarity alone will NOT contribute to future worth. You need interest and demand as well. There are tons of rare golden age comics that have less than 100 copies known to exist out there that you can buy for $50 or less since people just don't care about them. If few care about these variants 20 years from now, then their prices will either fall or cease to grow.
  8. Thanks! I learnt to grade from an old school grader while I worked at his shop. He told me that the best advice he could give me after all these years was to give the comic the grade you'd be comfortable with if you bought the comic. This could get higher than 8.0, maybe a 9.0 but unless it's CGC'd with that 9.0 I can easily imagine people returning the comic claiming a tear like that shouldn't be found in comics of this range. The problem with this comic is that unless it's high grade, it isn't worth getting graded.
  9. If you are asking yourself that question, then I would say no. Items like this are really just for the individual themselves where you buy because you like it, not because it is worth it. Basically, if they are available on e-bay right now, and not snapped up right away, then technically they are worth at most what you are paying, if not less. Are you ok with your copy of Dceased 2 that you bought for 30$ to only be worth 20$? If the answer is no, then steer clear of these.
  10. Yes, I would bump it down to an 8.0. Not sure how CGC would judge it.
  11. Those Tim Sale Batman stories are the best! Here's what came in for me this week, these GA comics are amazing. So glad to add them to my collection.
  12. The part I hate the most in that cover is the character in the upper left. Who us that? Beast? Because that looks horrid. I'll be in my bunk
  13. I too was puzzled by how they market it as a huge event with tons of possiblities but I think all they mean is you can get many comics signed by many creators all at once, but not on the same comic. I am really curious about that Woverine 1 in 9.4. Any chance you could post a better picture in the please grade me thread so we could check why it would get that ? That's what I thought as well. At first I was like OH SHIII... oh, wrong romita. I'm in for 2 Simonson books.
  14. I would not get this regraded by CGC since you then lose the verified signature and you end up in a green case which is not something I'd recomend getting. What would be best is to send it back to CBCS and have them open it, press it and regrade it. Because if something did happen during the signing, maybe it could be undone with a press. And you could get back your 7.0 and keep your signature. And if not, then at least you tried. It's a better option than the possibility of sending it to CGC and getting it back in a green label and 6.0 since there is no guarantee that it will come back 7.0 like it did before. What's the price difference between a 6.0, 6.5, 7.0? Because your total cost one way or another would be $100
  15. That is wrong. They will be regraded with new eyes. If they were overgraded in the first place, your grade will be lower If the person grading is harsher than the person who graded initially, your grade will be lower If anything happens to your copy once removed from the slab (like someone drops it, or creases a corner) your grade will be lower There have been countless times that people have been pissed for not getting the same grade back that CGC now writes a warning in big red bold letters about it in their online submission If you 100% cannot have your book come back in a lower grade, DONT SEND IT.
