  1. If I was to do fancy scans of all these, I'd lose a whole day. Trying to get all the affordable keys I can among other fun books.
  2. Fawk em (and yes, I include myself). While others may not feel the same way doesn't/shouldnt change how you feel about the book. It reminds me of my Whiz Comics 66. That book is as fresh as the day is was on stands, 70 years ago. It is as glossy as can be with white pages and minimal wear, as if it was read just a few times and then stored away. But some bugs got to it, and thus there is some chew at a bottom corner. It's unfortunate on such a nice book but it doesn't stop me from drooling, even if others won't.
  3. Really? I didn't know that. He isn't even mentioned on the CGC label. I always saw that more as a Kubert key.
  4. As do I, along with his X-Men run, but that's the thing, it's more of a body of work. Looking at prices for Jim Lee books, it seems like Batman 608 second printing is the book of his that's the hottest. Anyone know if there is a bigger key than that for him?
  5. Jim Lee is one of my favourite artists, and while I love his art, I can't think of a big key of his. With other artists, there are these clear key issues that come to mind in terms of characters they created. Like with McFarlane I think of ASM 300, ASM 361 for Bagley, DD 168 for Miller, UXM 221 for Silvestri, XFactor 6 for Guice, Avengers Annual 10 for Golden, Killing Joke for Bolland and so on. So, just wondering, what is your go to Jim Lee key book. And would that be the book you'd get him to sign if a chance occured?
  6. I know it sounds like a noob question, but I am a Batman fan who has been reading the main title (and others) since the Hush storyline and the whole point of the character is that he was not a "new" character afterall (not gonna spoil the story). So since Hush was just a fake out, at least initially, does he have an actual first appearance. The character we now know as Hush in the cannon is Tommy Elliot, but is there an issue where Tommy Eliot is Hush and it's determined to be his first appearance (that being Tommy under the bandages)? And is it at all deemed a key within the comic market?
  7. Yeah, that's what I thought. And I wasn't too far off the grade, glad it came back on the higher end of possible range.
  8. That's awesome! It's the highest grade the book could have gotten, so very happy that's what CGC went with. Happy for you that is. And I didn't think the number detracted, it wasn't what was bringing the grade down anyways. It's very hard for something to detract from the awesomeness that it is a 181. PS: Anyone else always found it hilarious that the wendigo is in the back there going "hey guys, remember me? I'm in this issue too!"
  9. +1, you will get way more helpful answers there and you should deal with this asap
  10. Ok, je comprend maintenant. Non, celui la ne va pas marcher. Ce que vous avez sont des compilations de plusieurs numéros et non des BD individuel.
  11. if money is no issue and this is for your personal collection, then you could always buy a high grade new Mutants 1 for $56 online and wait for the next claremont signing. You'd get a much higher grade for your personal collection.
  12. If all you wanted to do was read it at cover price, you could do that with a digital copy.
  13. La pluspart des comics sont correcte pour envoyer. Ils peuvent être aussi grand que les magazines d'ancien temp (comme les vieux playboy). Si jamais tu est pas certain, écrit nous les mesure de tes livres, c'est facile a vérifier.
  14. Did you know CGC currently notes 2 different issues as being the first cover appearance of Lois Lane?
  15. For those kind of niche books, there is no rip off price. Ten cents to a dollar a piece would not be out of question. You really have two options here: 1. Sell them yourself on e-bay to get as much as possible. 2. Take them to a dealer and take whatever they give you. Since you ruled out option 1, all that's left is option 2.
  16. I agree on that, but that's why I was going another direction on this and thinking getting subgrades in comics would become a new nightmare. A 9.8 would no longer be as cool as a quad 9.8, that type of stuff. Then again now that I say it, it could help those who keep asking "is this really a 9.4/9.6/9.8".
