  1. I wouldn't say "issues" per se. I had a couple books in on Feb for Marv Wolfman and they apparently waited till SDCC to get them signed (GEI now). Now the long wait for SS to finish along with who knows how many other SS books in queue that were signed recently or at SDCC. Jim Lee is a signing event that seems to always be completed up to 5 months after the cutoff date. I wouldn't worry in your shoes. Either a) the signing took place and they're clearing queue of earlier books or b) hasn't taken place yet but will either at another con or InHouse. Just know, they will be at C2E2 which means the old rule of "Fri before a con doesnt count towards TAT" is in effect again. Also there will be skeleton crew at home while staff is at con setting up/working. i expect to see that crapshoot of longer than usual TATs for some orders and fast TAT on others as depends on who is working where.
  2. based on some orders that have unfrozen from last year, would it be safe to say that last year's CCS Economies/Value are being prioritized ahead of Slow Track non-CCS Economy/Value with regard to grading? I ask because with the added wait of CCS you'd think a slow track Economy delivered August-Oct would have seen movement by now, but seems like all we see are the books coming out of CCS from the great glut of submissions last year.
  3. Not necessarily. It seems many of my subs since March are being charged as soon as checked in. If having money tied up for weeks/months is a problem, some may need to consider pre-screening so charged closer to actual grading. Even if you want all graded regardless, could set threshold to a ridiculous minimum (3.5 or similar). It's about a delaying tactic for capital investment. Although, considering tighter grading standards, maybe a pre-screen will avoid nasty surprises 🤷‍♂️
  4. We've seen weekend movement this year so it's still happening. Something that has changed - they're going back to Cons. This weekend was Orlando. Which means the "TAT = business days excluding the Friday of a Con" applies again. Losing a grading day while they collect a truckload of submissions to bring back :/
  5. Heartily agree. My experience has seen maybe an 8.0-8.5 if it's on rear cover, but never on front or that book is dropping to a 7.0 max if you're lucky. That said, friend of mine has or had a 9.6 with a 1/4" color break corner crease on front. Line followed artwork so must have been overlooked which doesn't speak well of that grader but point is sometimes surprising flaws can slip by at a higher grade. Never assume it will just because it did in past though.
  6. I had a "Delivery rejected" on one and it was returned instantly because a corner of box was smushed. I Pack well so there was no damage to books inside, re-packed, shipped again, accepted. More recently, and weirdest, another was signed for and sat waiting for few weeks. Then When it came time to open, they retroactively "refused delivery" and shipped back. Again, corner was crushed and torn and someone had slapped layers of tape on the opening. Sooo...why'd they initially accept delivery of that? ::shrug::
  7. Been in this boat several times, mixing submissions. They often put CGC-SS books to side that are less time sensitive than others. Especially when signing isn't scheduled yet. Earlier this year, I sent in 3 different submissions together and the Bagley signing was checked in like 3 weeks after the others ::shrug::
  8. This will be the massive pain considering volume you deal in, but search your email for subject line "Your Recent CGC Submission" That will be confirmation of books checked in by CGC with a PDF attached that will show assigned Submission # you need to use to look up older subs on your account page. The downside is that that PDF could have multiple Sub#s listed if they checked in multiple under your account that day. They will not have the original Order # either, so it's guesstimation as to when you received that email and if it's a relevant sub#. Barring all else, you can harvest all those Sub#s and just start looking 1x1.
  9. Provokes a question, how many total rounds will there be? Seems like 3 has a level of good + lucky element, but 5 rounds would have to show some consistency of correct estimating rationale for those who aren't that far off the mark.
  10. I'm really glad to see I'm not the only one noticing different emoji in acknowledgment PM and freaking out about what it means
  11. Recent completed returns - no Economy unfortunately. Claremont Signing shipped today. Dates are irrelevant, but here's how they tracked. (No addl services) SFG: 3/31 G/E/I: 4/23 QC: 4/28 12x Modern (no addl services) Delivered: 1/14 Rcvd: 1/17 SFG: 1/17 G/E/I: 4/25 QC: 4/26 Shipped: 4/27 Charged: 2/16
  12. It should. I had an economy fast track turnaround in like 6 weeks recently. Not saying yours will be that fast as mine were unusual, but you shouldn't be lost in the abyss.
  13. They do. I've had several submissions move to grading, move to QC, or even shipped (for following Monday) on a Saturday.
  14. Wait, when it was cancelled, did you choose regular grading or did you divert to another signing? If so which creator signing?
  15. Was going to say, the 8month mark probably has more to do with caching temporary DB tables & beyond that would have to go to a committed database which produces overhead since we're all F5'ing the submissions page over and over, LOL. But what you suggest is good, make a default, then a user specific modification to pull custom select records.
  16. Not OP, but I've had subs checked in "ahead" of the current box op3ning date posted. Likewise, had subs checked in sometime after, but less often.
  17. This isn't helpful AT ALL, but not able to be at home, I called FedEx requesting change of delivery to work and they said they couldn't. Best I could do was place a hold at hub to will call pick up. Your 200mi makes that impossible probably, so if they attempt delivery and can't, it should go back to CGC where they can fix address. Bigger problem is if person at "old" address accepts delivery and takes your books :/
  18. Claremont sig only (no CCS) went to G/E/I In case anyone wondering where those are at
  19. Mine was not pressed through CCS,but did get a Bagley remarque + sig graded, shipped, and in hand on 4/12.
  20. Economy Slow received 10/5, still at SFG. So if anyone getting some back, they were probably checked in sometime in September.
  21. I did cheat. They used to have instructions to mark outside of box FT for Fast Track. No longer noted on such submission instructions but I still mark packages FT. They respected it and got mine checked in pronto...the other slow Modern sub that went in same box is chilling on back burner waiting to be checked in still ::shrug::
  22. Think folks still just receiving VALUE subs coming out of CCS around August. I've only received Economy if they were fast track. Some other TATs though: 13x MODERN, no other services Delivered: 12/6 Rcvd: 12/10 SFG: 12/10 G/E/I: 4/5 QC: 4/6 Shipped: 4/7 Charged: 2/16 7x Fast Track MODERN, no other services Delivered: 4/7 Rcvd: 4/11 SFG: 4/11 G/E/I: 4/12 QC: 4/13 Shipped: 4/14 Charged: 4/11 ^That Fast Track was absolutely warp speed. From door to door, had them back in hand inside of two weeks.
  23. I do this. Like to note dates at which each status change updated. You quickly compile a historical chart that quickly lets you see trends developing. Like right now, my MODERNS w/no additional services have gone from even 5 months to about 3m3w TAT. Now to see if signings and Wondercon drive that up.
  24. When the subs were originally checked in, you would have rcvd email with pdf attached that has the sub #s in it. Subject line is "CGC Order Acknowledgment" or similar.
