  1. DANG! After a week, I wondered how long I could anticipate my Value FT being in G/E/I status. ....and now I know
  2. WTF?! Damn @1Cool I really hope you get those books IN HAND undamaged and intact. That's like the weirdest "lost package" story ever. But....coulda been so much worse.
  3. See, years ago when I was a weee lad and sent my first sub, waits were just ~2 mths or so back then and you always carried an onion your belt, as that was the style back then, I got curious why I had not been charged after a few weeks. So I called to request to switch card used since I didn't want to bounce a bill. They charged me immediately and I just stayed with that CC. 'Fin
  4. Yeah, I understand waits as an it is what it is thing. But their lackadaisical and unpredictable charging schedule is total BS. I switched to a CC dedicated just to CGC years ago, so when they randomly decide to charge multiple submissions over months all in one go, my mortgage don't bounce. And i get 1% cashback too.
  5. Never fear, CGC hasn't forgotten! But did you empty deleted mail? Shiuld be able to pull from there. Otherwise, I don't knowbhow to get a copy except by sending them the CGCxxxxxxxxxx order number when it was generated.
  6. I have 7x Value FT delivered on 4/24. No addl movement beyond entered as SFG.
  7. Yes. No matter how many, it's broken into multiples of 25. Each with it's own $5 handling fee and return shipping scales. So per book costs have a capped floor so you can't spread it across more than the 25 at a time.
  8. Having lived in this forum for couple years, seen these events a couple times. I strongly believe a trainer grabs a box or sub order at random and sits down with trainee to go through whatever apprenticing they get. Maybe things are bad enough that a middle manager grabs a stack at random and grades or inventories. It's the only thing that makes sense for such "extreme'' line jumps.
  9. This is also why many people swear by fast tracking couple books in order and writing FT/Fast Track on box. Not that CGC has formal instructions for that.... In my mind though, if that works, it just means they're inventoried faster and you stare at SFG for a longer period than otherwise. Doesn't actually *boost* est TAT.
  10. For sure. Best I have to guesstimate is artist rolled thru about 4-6 weeks after sub deadline. Which in case of Silvestri, that deadline was 7/05, so at point where he may have touched my books. Ah well ::checks watch, refreshes submission page, checks watch ad infinitum::
  11. Ahhh, that one tempted me, but opted for Silvestri which is still in holding pattern. Seems like they also arent announcing on FB/Insta when creators come in. Like no Q&A or drawing on whiteboard. So just a surprise when it's done.
  12. Not seen QC/Finalized. Must be a blink & you miss it status.
  13. Recommended I post question here. Trying to determine cost/benefit of press for books I'm ok letting slide with lower threshold grades. Assuming no other defects, how much of a (ballpark) deduction does slight Spine Curl/Bend get? Have a batch of copper age comics (~1988-92) that have no other flaws; no creases, color break, scuffing, divot, stress lines, etc. Just a slight compression roll along spine you get from stacking. Attaching pic to illustrate what I mean re:spines. Example 5 is a double-sized issue with greater compression and probably will be getting pressed regardless. Curious if you can anticipate that to be like a 9.6 or if it's egregious enough to drop to like 9.0-9.2 in CGC's eyes. Again, ballpark estimate, broadly speaking. Thanks!
  14. Thanks! I'll move the topic. And I do see exactly what you are referring to, which is exactly where these books of mine land as far as...severity(?) The morphing standards as to how penalizing this could be was exactly what my concern would be. Similar to how Marvel Chipping used to not be and now is.
  15. I know this is broad, but trying to determine cost/benefit of press for books I'm ok letting slide with lower threshold grades. Curious if you can anticipate that to be like a 9.6 or if it's egregious enough to drop to like 9.0-9.2. Thanks! edit: added pics of sample books' spines. #5 is the worst as a double sized issue seeing more compression.
  16. WT that's entering 2nd month of grading w/no status change?! Did you have pressing done? Because that would be scaring me that book was lost/damaged and someone was scrambling on the back end. Not saying yours has been, but I sent an Express order rcvd early July that's already come back
  17. Same. My Express were low grade silvers I finally got hands on for the PC for not an arm & leg. It's not that I got 3s when I expected 4s, it's that for that low, you'd expect a laundry list of problems in notes, right? Nope 2 lines. I mean, I got two treasured books with 5.0 grades last year. Each one had four to five lines listing problems. So I guess my books got the grader going through a nasty breakup.
  18. 2x Express (no addl services) - 20 day TAT on received date Delivered: 7/8 CGC Rcvd: 7/9 CGC Charged: 7/15 SFG: 7/9 Grdng/Encap/Img: 7/13 Grading/QC: 7/26 F/I/S: 7/27 First time through new status updates. Agree with others, whether accurate or not, seems each stage takes longer. I guess it's a bone to throw to masses to cut down on all the frantic "where my books?!?!" inquiries. Also got nailed hard by grades. Whether tightened up standards among newbies or just run afoul of the one guy killing previous subs....
  19. True that! I was on the CCS train for a bit too till I got a book back where corner crush wasn't fixed fully. Like still noted as such by graders. That and they don't actually clean, at least not like a private presser will. Nevermind the glacial waits. So find the guy you like & trust.
  20. Generally speaking, I'm charged on books LONG after they've arrived. Lately it seems that it's just before or during the grading process (so months after). But I do know that, if you have a couple of orders in holding pattern, as soon as one is charged, they tend to charge the rest. So if you send a Standard by itself, it'll be 3-4 months down road. If you have a lingering Modern that goes to grading about time Standard is checked in, they may charge you for both together. That's why I always put my stuff on a little used CC, so it isn't a surprise when $1000 CGC bill shows up on there randomly. And sorry, never heard of Trinity Pressing, I use my own presser too, but he's in TX.
  21. Indiscriminately is my answer. I had an Express get charged and they went ahead and added on the charges for 2x InHouse Signing, 1x FT Value, and 1x Modern slow. Even tho those 4 are still SFG and won't see movement for months.
  22. Hoo-wee, gives hope for my own FT/Value delivered 4/24. I guess another month?
  23. "So for the good of all, we are agreed to implementing the great CGC submission moratorium of 2021..." "Hey! @NewWorldOrder has a box behind his back! I see it!...and he's sidestepping to that PO Box!
