  1. "New in Spring '22! We spray all inner sleeves with no-stick baker's spray for enhanced damage protection!" [Future CGC press release]
  2. Not really, so long as no CCS pressing is involved, you could see STANDARD completed in 5-7 weeks.
  3. dafuq??? Maaaaan, out of 9 different submissions since this weird warp speed track appeared I have had 1 - exactly ONE - hit the lottery. I. Am. Jealous.
  4. another August received order that completed. An interesting note, it appears that the "improved process" or "slipstreaming" they tested is/has been implemented, because once these hit G/E/I they basically zoomed through process straight to shipped near same day. So that's good. It stinks when stuck in QC for 2 weeks. 11x Modern (no addl services) Delivered: 6/16 Rcvd: 8/16 SFG: 8/16 G/E/I: 12/14 QC:12/16 Shipped: 12/16 For those wondering, I had my last two pending signing books completed as well: 1x Jim Lee (signing) 1x Al Milgrom (signing + remarque) G/E/I: 11/10 G/E/I: 11/12 QC: 11/22 QC: 11/30 Shipped: 11/23 Shipped: 12/7
  5. The payment trigger, in my recent experience, is when an order is on a grading table/slabbing machine, they charge you. If you have multiple orders at time - they all get charged. Case in point, I had a VALUE, MODERN, and multiple signings orders waiting for weeks to months. I sent a Walkthru so they all were charged at once. Walkthru returned in a week and the previous orders kept waiting for more weeks. So plan accordingly and put it on a CC so your mortgage check dont bounce.
  6. Oh I know But I'm also hoping they're following an under Promise, over Deliver situation. Meaning, say Dec, when implementing now to work out kinks to meet timeline as opposed to whoopsy, goes into effect Jan, then Feb, etc I can dream, ok
  7. That's awesome! Their press release last week about "clearing package opening backlog" did say they were initiating workflow improvements across facility. So maybe that is getting done to all our benefit once all subs (not just few blessed recents) reach grading room.
  8. For me, it was minimum. I also sent a book Walkthru once, even tho it was graded at an approx value of $5500 they could have done the 3% for more, but only charged me WK minimum. So yeah, CGC seems to have some money grubbing practices, but they really aren't nickel and diming as much as they conceivably could.
  9. That's same for billing, received, shipped. Human didn't send it, automated batch mailer did when an accounting cycle was run. You had to have hit a a 9.6 or 9.8 on your ASM300 (congratz). CGC really doesnt seem to nickel and dime, me at least. I've had high grade books that blow past Modern tier not upgraded. Only upgrade was like yours, unexpected high grade where a 9.8 =$2500+ value.
  10. I've always wondered if at some point when books go SFG, are they in a long line waiting for next available OR assigned to an actual grader (and at mercy of their current workload)? If assigned to a dedicated person, what happens to their queue if they are sick, quit, fired, on vacation? Is that why some random subs linger for weeks after their peers seemingly complete processing?
  11. Unless they change procedures, still up in air. At least pre-covid, they were still pretty random with billing. Not quite like it has been now, but you'd typically get charged sometime during actual grading phase.
  12. YIKES! Based on your recent shipped, looks like my last two subs delivered last week and this week were diverted to slow lane since there's no extra movement
  13. Wut? They were waiting for the $ they didnt realize they already had before completing the book? I've been charged the day after they were put on a truck to come back home to me...sounds like a convenient excuse to mask some other oops. Still glad you're on way to being reunited
  14. Oh for sure. I've had A LOT of books submitted at Modern that get grades putting well above the $400, but =<1k. CGC really doesnt nickel & dime surprisingly. They really only upcharge in extreme cases where that book is way waaay out of proportion to tier.
  15. I see what you mean, but this was a 9.8 book that's valued around 3k? So that was justified. I didnt think it had a chance hitting that, why I submitted modern. On flip side, I sent in another Modern tier book that got a 9.8 valued at ~1.1k, but I wasn't upcharged. So the first scenario makes sense and I think they still have some wiggle room baked into tiers.
  16. My warp speed were all different and spread across mostly Bronze/Copper Age stuff. Grades seemed a bit higher than expectation on a few, but within my own prescreen guesstimate margin of error. One issue ended up being my first "hey, this so nice we charging you more!" notification.
  17. I got so distracted by other things non-comics related, I forgot to update! 1. my Modern Fast Track finally got churned out by the machinery and 2. I was the beneficiary of a warp speed October turnaround. Modern Fast Track x3 (no addl services) Delivered: 9/14 Rcvd:9/14 SFG: 9/14 G/E/I: 9/21 QC/Finalizing: 11/3 Shipped:11/3 Modern x13 (no addl services) Delivered: 10/15 Rcvd: 10/21 SFG: 10/21 G/E/I: 10/22 QC/Finalizing: 10/25 Shipped:10/25 @ADAMANTIUM in relation to your prior question, I'm an Elite member who renewed prior to price change...around April? And I've wondered too if membership tier may play into TATs somewhat, if any of us get preferential treatment for qty of subs or member tier ::shrug::
  18. I had 3 in for that signing, they completed and shipped last Wed or Thurs. Shiuld be delivered tomorrow, so yours should be coming up soon.
  19. Wait, you're hoping or you know the Jim Lee signing is next week. I may have a vested interest in his signing schedule
  20. Finalized/Shipped around lunchtime! Yours should be soon. Like I said long ago, remarques tendto be after signings.
  21. @Fisionbomb RED ALERT! NOT A DRILL! Marc Silvestri signing books moved to Grading/QC this morning!
  22. ...and yea' the heavens parted....JUNE RECEIVED SHIPPED, YA'LL! 11x Modern (no addl services) Delivered: 5/5 Rcvd: 6/29 SFG: 6/29 G/E/I: 10/13 Grading/QC: 10/19/2021 Finalizing/Shpped: 10/20/2021 Bad news, the first 5 books in the order ALL have grader notes indicating "bottom left corner crush" either large, slight, or on one entire bottom book?! I know how to send books, so methinks a fat stack fell off a table, or off cart, or out of handlers hands ::sigh:: At least these were "flipper" type books effected and not the rest I intended to keep for personal collection. Don't know if I'm happier to have them coming home or should be madder that they got borked. Best of luck to all you still waiting on the summer subs!
  23. You picked the right user name cuz you da bomb! Thanks! Now maybe I can stop picturing my books singing the "I'm so ronery" track from Team America: World Police
  24. Was gonna say, I've sent 2-4 orders in same box because (cheaper and) one qualified for "immediate open." Not uncommon to have a random order inputted 2 days later than rest in batch.
  25. The instructions to write EX or WK on your box if submitting at that tier are printed on the bottom of the packing slip. They used to ask you write FT on outside of box for fast track contents, which they don't instruct to do, but many ppl still order 1-3 FT and rest slow, so they can honestly write FT on outside old school way, then have box opened and inventoried sooner. It worked the one time I tried it.
