  1. And I couldn’t agree more. You are exercising your right as a consumer. I applaud your taking a stand, but the reality of things is that too many dealers/collectors/flippers have hitched their wagons to CGC’s horse that they CANNOT stop sending in books. I know at least 6-7 board member alone who left their jobs to sell comics full time.
  2. It is what it is wraps it up succinctly. The amount of books being held back may slow CGC down 10-15 minutes. It would be the equivalent of a cup of water used to put out a California forest fire.
  3. You can get a masterpiece done by Stuart Sayger for a little more than that.
  4. I'm trying to understand your original statement. Your presser declined to press the book for you, because there are too many copies slabbed already? 8.5 ish
  5. I find kindness goes a lot farther than being rude. Helped me out greatly when I used to travel a lot for work. Especially when flights were cancelled. Can’t tell you how many times a gate or airline agent would tell an irate customer that there was nothing they could do to get them on another flight that day. All I had to do when it was my turn in line, was smile and acknowledge they were doing the best they could under the circumstances, and magically an open seat appeared on another flight home.
  6. I forgot to get my grades in for the third round. Maybe you get ejected from playing.
  7. Blue label, but CGC would grade the book as if the tape was not present. This is cellophane tape so not archival in nature.
  8. Having worked on as many books as I have over the last 17 years, I can see how many of these issues happen, even when you handle the books with kid gloves. The two I have a hard time understanding are creases and stains.
  9. Agreed. The book may now have irreversible damage done to it.
  10. I wonder who, among active posters, has been around the longest without winning forumite of the year.
  11. Let’s have this same discussion about a year after Kang appears in a MCU movie.
  12. Fingerprints, especially ones that smudge or remove ink, are the kiss of death. I believe CGC treats them the same as stains.
  13. That’s a front to back mis-wrap and not a spine roll. I have seen bad Mis-cut books get 9.8 grades.
  14. He may still be able to have the box re-routed. Some of those books are worth pressing and a few are not even worth getting graded due to the color breaks on them.
  15. I also deducted .4 for that. I have yet to see another copy of WWBN 32 graded 9.4 with an issue like that.
  16. All depends. Some creases leave a remnant if there is any color loss or color rub associated with them. The pressing will get them flat, but if any ink has been compromised it will still show during the grading process.
  17. Could be. Can we get a better picture of the slab, please?
