  1. Could simply be the number of the book as listed on the invoice. A way for them to double check what goes back to the customer, unless you have repeating numbers as that would mean something different.
  2. I have had many copies of marvel spotlight 2 that have similar ink transfer. I had one copy that received a 9.4 with issues similar to the OP’s SW 2. IIRC it happens when the inks are not fully dry when the books are stacked and “stick” or transfer to other books. Since it is dried on ink, it cannot be cleaned off without taking off some of the original ink along the way.
  3. Just from the stain, no. I have gotten back some 9.6 copies with ink stains like that.
  4. Looks like mild moisture damage. Will press our nicely.
  5. They can be pressed. They have to be strong 9.8 candidates to begin with. No issues with the hologram.
  6. Or pizza shop owners named Tony. If that was in the comic, no one would object unless the pizza shop was named “wops”.
  7. The crease could have happened after it was slabbed. What does the back cover look like? It would be nice to see closeups of the color breaks. Based on experience, two or three defects that break color will keep it out of 9.6 range.
  8. This has had more than dry cleaning done to it. Loos like it has been stripped of its gloss, which lends me to believe chemicals were involved.
  9. Who picked up the Special Marvel Edition #4 9.4 that Greg Reece sold.
  10. They can be greatly reduced to the point where you have to look for them, if the one doing the work knows what they are doing.
  11. Living in Canada...probably not. I live in Florida and have to go to great lengths to keep the temperature and humidity at a constant where I store my comics.
  12. Based on the notes and pictures it is worth the attempt on this book. Lots of upside with little downside (unless you give to to a "friend" who presses and they ruin it on you).
  13. This is nothing but my opinion...but it is always best to submit directly, even if it costs a little more money.
  14. Stickers can be removed. The removal is the easy part. The damage left behind is determined by the skill of the one removing the sticker, or if the glue has caused any long term staining or deterioration if the underlying inks.
  15. How is the staple placements on each book? This could be the result of a few issues.
  16. Looks like it could be wear from improper storage, as many copies of these books sat in boxes with no bags and boards. They are inexpensive enough to find another copy that is higher grade.
