  1. Scans would be extra helpful in assessing the books potential. Even a book that is poly-bagged can have issues keeping it out of the NM range aside from the crease from the bag.
  2. It happens from time to time. In my past experiences, they do show up.. I have had boxes delivered that only showed scanned by both FedEx and USPS. On one occasion it took three weeks, and that was within the State of Florida.
  3. Butterflying the book that way to take pictures won't help the spine split (may be an actual tear as it looked jagged to me). I'm in the 3.5 to 4.0 bucket.
  4. Need a scan of the back cover (an all black back cover).
  5. The spine roll can be fixed or greatly reduced. I’m in the vf + club.
  6. I haven't used a dehumidifier in a long time, but are there models that don't produce heat as a by product of the process?
  7. You can tell where the price sticker was with most of these books.
  8. or this book was "pinched" by something very heavy in some odd way. The pages don't look brittle, but you can only tell so much from a scan.
  9. Black inks (IMHO) are thicker than other inks, which creates this affect.
  10. Parts of the front and back cover are damaged. Interior pages are crushed and split. The book will take a major hit, which is sad, as this is a nice copy otherwise. An experienced presser can manipulate the paper back into place without glue or tape, which will make it present better if you decide to slab it.
  11. I lost my mind in 1993. Haven't recovered it yet.
  12. Absolutely. Ill even join you in having a vegetarian meal. and you know how big of a deal that is for me.
  13. Is this a square bound book or square bound magazine? If yes, CGC takes this into account with the exception of the uber high grades. I have seen staple poke through in books as high as 9.4/9.6.
  14. As far as being informed, yes. All of that goes out the door if the person doing the pressing and providing the information is not that good.
