  1. Will be listing a few books each night over the next week or so. I have multiples of a few of these books, so please inquire if a book you wanted has been taken. Consider all books pressed. Price includes shipping in the US. To Canada or other countries I will give a partial credit towards shipping, but additional monies will be required. First gets it. No one on any lists or if I have you on ignore. No returns on slabs. Please ask questions before taking a book.
  2. Can anyone vouch for this seller? I have my eye on a book or two, but he seems shady to me.
  3. Agreed. I see what appears to be micro-tears and many spine breaks. I would start taking better pictures and asking for estimates on grades. If not, you will most likely be very disappointed with what you send in.
  4. I could see a 7.5. Book has great eye appeal. Too bad about the thumb crease top edge and the soft corner front cover.
  5. This. I would also add posting scans of the books YOU consider 9.8 candidates. Others will be able to chime in and point out why they are or aren't 9.8's.
  6. .5 at a minimum. I would say it is in the 7.0 range now with the color break top right corner front cover, damage in K of Hulk and the remnants of the original defects.
  7. This is the after picture, correct? I don't see it as pronounced in the before picture, which lends me to believe some color was lifted.
  8. Dust shadows Light foxing Some light tanning???? Need to see inside of covers. Micro tears top edge Color breaks in top cover' Soft corner bottom spine front cover I would say 7.0 range
  9. It is not restoration or conservation unless an attempt was made to wash the whole book in water or solvent. In this case, based purely on many books I have seen submitted with this type of defect, it will be considered a defect and graded accordingly.
  10. Somewhat, all depends on the "bubble". This example should press out.
  11. They are in fact clean spots on the book where tanning has been removed without leaving a tide line by water or moisture issues.
  12. Can you post a closeup picture of the bottom right corner front cover?
  13. Seriously doubt that will happen here for many reasons. I will list the most obvious below. 1. CGC would not allow competition to showcase their skills. It would be like having one pressing company advertise on another pressing companies website. 2. Most individuals that press for a living are not going to share the details of their work. There are many online tutorials that can take you so far, but you have to be fully vested to truly jump to the next level.
  14. It would also make sense that a fold that large, that resulted in that much color loss, would not lay that flat on its own.
  15. I have never had any problems with embossed covers or square bound comics.
  16. Does the mark go through the font cover?
  17. IF done properly, and I stress the IF, a comic getting pressed a second time will not result in any damage. Many years back an experiment was done on a book being pressed multiple times. The book was cut in half, half was pressed a few times (other half left as is) and then sent in to have the paper quality tested. The results were more positive than negative when comparing the two halves. IIRC the pressed half had better hydrogen bonds compared to the unpressed half.
  18. Was damage introduced in the "K" in hulk? I am looking at the original scan and I don't see the color breaks as pronounced.
