  1. You could buy an already graded 7.5 or 8.0 for what you would pay for shipping/pressing/grading on this book. A press will help the book, but it is not financially worth doing.
  2. If you are patient, books eventually show up. They always have for me. Its not like its a piece of original art and once it goes into a private collection it may be a decade before it comes up for sale again.
  3. Are all the edges sealed properly? I imagine it is debris from the book falling off and getting stuck to the plastic. As long as the edges are sealed properly, you should be good.
  4. My earliest first appearance was in 1963.
  5. It sure does. Sharpies are OK. Most inks are OK. You get into trouble when using pastel color ink or paint pens. Todd McFarlane loved those weird color paint pens, especially the white ones. He signed many books back in the day using those types of pens. They never fully dried and always remained “tacky” to the touch. Many of the signatures transferred off the book to the inner well, or we lifted by a simple press. It was a mess.
  6. I made my own corner shelves this weekend. Have a few more to make but the bigger statues are up and displayed in my sons room.
  7. The remark and signature looks like black sharpie which should be fine under high heat. There are a handful of pressers who can crack out and resubmit signed books.
  8. One of my favorite covers in the whole hulk run. 5.5 ish
  9. A large portion of the books I work on are 5.0 and under. It’s not always about the 9.6 to 9.8 bump. When assessing a book it is all about risk vs. reward.
  10. Sounds like you replaced one piece of paper (sticker cover) with another (wax paper).
  11. Someone who knows what they are doing. Which still eliminates half that claim they can.
  12. For something like this crunch to be fixed completely, I doubt anything with "quick" in the name would work. You are somewhat fortunate it was not a dark color on the cover. You would need someone with expertise to completely remove all of that.

    Huh?

Keep in mind I changed the book title to Book 1-4. I don't see if they are restored or not. All the fields with the exception of date and title are blank.

    Huh?

Am I missing something, is CGC missing something or have things changed yet again? Sorry if this has been mentioned already. I have an invoice that is in QC and I don't see any other info but this: 001 Book 1 8/75 Marvel Comics 002 Book 2 12/75 Marvel Comics 003 Book 3 1/77 Marvel Comics 004 Book 4 1977 Marvel Comics
  15. Why would anyone care if I came on the boards asking $15,000 for a raw ROM #1? Why? I did enough to make myself look foolish without any added input. If I don't like what I see...I keep on steppin'.
  16. That’s it not too “bad” of a spine roll and, in the hands of someone competent, can be removed completely.
  17. Thanks. I’ll check Home Depot tomorrow.
