Still not showing as Received/SFG. Keep in mind this was a package clearly marked with "WT" on it.

  5. 10x Book Fast Track Economy Submission - Delivered 1/30/23 - Received/SFG 2/1/23 - GEI 2/6/23 - Shipped 2/9/23 8/10 books were at or above what I expected to get, really happy about those. Perplexed about 2 of them, and already planning on resubmitting them.
  6. Had a great time catching up with friends here and just admiring the great selection. Wasn’t able to finalize any deals to upgrade my books; either the copies in the room were just too high of a grade, or too high in price. Despite coming home empty handed, I was just happy to in a room amongst friends and comics. Parking was simple/free, as I just parked across the street at South Coast Plaza. There were ample spots right at the corner of Bristol and Anton, just had to use the crosswalk and you were at the hotel. X marked the location I was at.

  8. Current estimate as of 2/3/23 is 3 working days (not counting the day it might take for them to open it). Will be putting that to the test soon with a copy of FF 5….
  9. Fully expecting this to happen to me. Have a Walkthrough, Express, and Standard book all going in one box. Willing to bet that the Standard gets done first despite having to pay dumb money for a tier that is supposed to be quicker....
  10. 10x Book Fast Track Economy Submission- Delivered 1/30/2023 - Received/Scheduled for Grading (also billed) 2/1/2023
  11. 10x Book Fast Track Economy Submission - Delivered (aka picked-up at the post office) 1/30/2023
  12. Counting down the days! Will be bringing a few books with me that I'm hoping to upgrade (so if anyone is open to downgrade + cash, let me know!) - X-men #1 CGC 2.5 CR/OW (looking for a 3.0 - 3.5) - X-men #3 CGC 4.0 OW/W (looking for a 5.5 - 6.5) - Fantastic Four Annual #2 CGC 5.5 OW/W (looking for a 6.5 - 7.0) My goal for the year is to get nicer copies of my favorite books, so hoping to use this weekend as a starting point. Cheers to the weekend
  13. Seriously. Seems pretty ridiculous that modern slow track stuff gets pumped out well before their advertised time, while standard/express/walkthrough don’t get held to the same standard.
  14. From what I understand based on my prior two walkthrough submissions, they will use your declared value/evaluation UNLESS they feel it is below what they believe is the FMV. If your declared value/evaluation is below FMV, they are still going to use your higher value when billing.
  15. I have a FT Economy, Standard, Express, and Walkthrough submission in my submission pipeline (currently getting cleaned/pressed). Appreciate these updates
  16. Yes, I'm familiar with them! I actually used them for signature witnessing at the show back in 2020 (I didn't want to wait in the CGC line). Handled my Steranko and Golden signature submissions without an issue
  17. Thanks for the confirmation, Terry. While their absence is a bummer/inconvenience, doesn’t take away from the quality of the show. Appreciate the info!
  18. Hey Gene, just want to clarify: the ticket website indicates CGC will be there on Preview Night and the Main Event. Is this the case, or is it just that Desert Wind will be there handling CGC submissions as a witness/facilitator? I was hoping to do a drop-off submission directly to CGC like the last show. Thanks in advance!
  19. I appreciate you taking the time to respond! I'm sure the event organizers would welcome this type of feedback/inquiry (I've sent it their way just in case), but I'd always encourage anyone to reach out to them via the contact form on the website or via Instagram DM. I cannot speak to how they make their decisions, I just know that for every show there has been more collector demand than the actual supply of booth spaces. Pretty sure I've introduced myself in prior threads and at the show, but for the sake of transparency: my name is Aaron (on Instagram as aarrow_prty/aonescomics), and while I cannot speak for the organizers, only as a supporter of the show and setting up at the last 3 shows myself, I'm happy to share my brief insight (again, this is my perspective, not that of the event organizers): I truly don't think this show is meant to be like the traditional/"real" cons you refer to, and that's what has made it stand out to me. I've always looked at it as a "comic swap meet" among the local community of collectors here in California. If anything it gives small/private collectors like you and I an opportunity to set up at a busy show and make some deals among the community members, something we cannot necessarily do otherwise without paying a steep fee to get access. I've come to enjoy this show since there's always a wide array of vendors: you have your traditional dealers and you have your private collectors, all in one room. Whatever selection criteria is being used has seemingly ensured that there is a great mix of the type of collectors setting up. I'm not too familiar with many traditional/"real" cons in the area that let that happen. To be fair, Shortboxed is technically giving private collectors like you and I an opportunity to set up at Cal Comic Con (I was set-up at the 2020 Comic Swap during Cal Comic Con 2020), though during the smaller preview night on Saturday night that they organize (which is limited capacity). I don't think this is same thing as being in the main show Sunday setting up alongside the titans of the comic industry we know and love (seriously, the vendor line up looks amazing!). It is with this in mind that I've come to appreciate what Near Mint Sundays offers to a small collector like me: access and opportunity. I'll be at Cal Comic Con both days in February. I'm not setting up Saturday night myself (don't have the inventory to justify it), but I'll be there to be support my friends/other collectors and hopefully find something I like. Happy to continue this discussion in person, collector-to-collector
  20. Vendor registration is currently OPEN! I provided a link below to take you to the registration page where you can fill out a vendor application. Important dates to consider: 12.12.22 - Vendor Applications OPEN. 12.31.22 - Vendor Applications CLOSE. 01.09.23 - Vendors Will Receive An UPDATE. The event organizers have indicated that they usually receive more applications than they have booth space, so nothing is certain even if you submit an application early for this show. To quote them "Your answers really matter. Your vibe is more important than the depth of your collection." Near Mint Sundays Vendor Registration

  22. if you're looking for actual comic books, go to Cal Comic Con or Torpedo Con instead.
  23. No worries, happy to help. I’ve used Desert Wind in the past without issue (was back in 2020). I’d say find their both first to make sure you’re comfortable using them and are familiar with their process/paperwork.
  24. Just looking at the Exhibitor List on the app, I can see Desert Wind Comics and Collectibles (who set up at pretty much every major con in the region). They offer signature verification/submission facilitation for a fee. This is just the first one I see/off the of the top of my head, but there will probably be more.
  25. Was nice seeing you! And thanks as always for the pictures. Glad you made it out! Already got my tickets for Cal Comic Con, so I’ll see you there!
