  1. I saw him walking around also, so I had just assumed he was there as a vendor set up where I couldn’t see. Guess I was wrong!
  2. Wow, sorry to hear that! Always thought there was something for everyone here. Though I know Golden Age books are usually scarce (more so at yesterday’s show). Hope you have better luck at the next show! (I believe I heard sometime in March, but not set in stone yet). Thanks for stopping by either way!
  3. Slightly more than a week away! Looking forward to seeing some familiar faces. This will actually be the last one I’m setting up at as a vendor for some time, but I will definitely be a regular attendee!
  4. For any locals planning to attend NMS on 11/13/22, there is also going to be a smaller pop-up show this weekend on Sunday 10/9/22. First 100 people to show up at the pop-up will get early access to the NMS show on 11/13/22! As collectors, I think we can all agree that early access to the show floor is super helpful when hunting for books/deals! This pop-up will be much more laid back/scaled down, and the goal is to generate more hype for the NMS show in November. Hope to see some of you there!
  5. LET'S GO! Love to hear that I'm confident in saying there's something for every type of comic collector here-- all eras (some more than others of course, all publishers (alot of rare independent books pop-up!), and all budgets. Plenty of deals/dollar boxes to dig through, and plenty of big time keys to admire!
  6. I can say with 95% certainty that there will always be some type of facilitator there, even if CGC is not there themselves. Any time there's money to be made from signature verifications, you can bet there will be a facilitator there offering their services. Even at smaller/less established cons like Ontario Comic Con Revolution there is always at least one vendor offering to facilitate CGC sigs/verification.
  7. Looking at flights now Had a great time during the last show I attended (my first).
  8. Hope you can make it! I’ve set up at the first two shows and it just continues to get even better! Both in terms of number of attendees/vendors and overall quality of books/deals. Aside from myself, a few other CGC board members have attended and provided some feedback/pictures in the thread for the last show. Check it out! Last NMS Show
  9. (Advertising with permission on behalf of the event organizer)ATTENTION ALL SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA COMIC COLLECTORS: The latest and greatest local comic book BUY / SELL / TRADE event (and last one for the year 2022)!Mark your calendars and make plans to attend the third installment of Near Mint Sundays! An expected 40+ comic vendors with free admission and free parking! What's that mean for you? MORE MONEY FOR COMIC BOOKS! NMS is focusing on strictly comic books from all eras, both graded and ungraded! Great Mix of dealers and private collectors bringing affordable back issues and high-end keys. The last two events were a huge success, and the third one is on track to be even BIGGER and BETTER. Happy to announce the following changes for the third show: 1) EXTENDED HOURS! Event organizers heard everyone in regards to there not being enough time to dig through everything. Therefore, show hours have been extended from 10:00am to 5:00pm! 2) BIGGER VENDOR SPACES! More space is being allotted to each vendor, which should hopefully make the comic hunting experience for attendees feel little less crowded! 3) BIGGER OVERALL SHOW AREA! There will now be vendors set-up on the outdoor patio, which should also hopefully improve the comic hunting experiences for attendees!Sunday, November 13, 202210:00am - 5:00pmBrookhurst Community Center2271 W Crescent AveAnaheim, CA 92801For more info, please visit the following websites: Near Mint Sundays on Instagram Near Mint Sunday Official Website (Includes Vendor Information)
  10. Got my tickets, looking forward to this one! Highly encourage everyone to attend the Comic Swap/Preview Night. Great opportunitty to socialize/network AND get some good deals from private collectors. I had set up at the last show at the swap and had a blast! Won't be doing this one, as I don't have the premium inventory anymore
  11. wow, would have loved to go if I had a free day just to browse. Thanks for sharing @Robot Man! Maybe next time.
  12. Final FT Economy received on 7/11/22 shipped today (8/16/22): These will probably be my last submissions for awhile. Didn't renew my membership that expired last month, and overall unhappy with what I see going on with the company/lack of transparency. Still have a stack of X-men and Doctor Doom books I had wanted to grade, but time will tell when that'll happen. Catch you all on the other threads
  13. 2/3 FT Economy Submissions received on 7/11/22 updated to Shipped today 8/15/22 (shipping date is 8/16/22)
  14. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at this show! got there a little after 11:00am and didn't leave till about 3:00pm. It was great putting a face to the names of a few people I've talked to or done business with via social media. I scored some good books, highlight being a raw copy of X-men 12 that I just couldn't leave behind. The flight up from the San Bernardino airport to SFO was so cheap that I will strongly consider flying up again just for these shows. Looking forward to the next one I can attend!
  15. Thanks for the heads-up, will be sure to have some cash to speed things up. Really looking forward to the show!
  16. This! Worked out for me perfectly at the last one. I was happy, wife was happy, WE'RE ALL HAPPY!
  17. @HouseofComics.Com I did have a question: don't see anything about buying tickets ahead of time on the website, so I'd just have to show up early/before 11am to get the early bird entry?
  18. This is basically me also! Traveling to visit friends, and just so happens to be the weekend of the show. Looking forward to it!
  19. Insider secret: there was a $20 bill slipped in between each book (who are we kidding, $20 doesn't get you anything nowadays). In all honesty, we can try rationalizing this all we want, but we'll never know without some honest transparency from the company. I've given up on that. It's been like this since the later half of 2020, yet we continue to expect different results (i.e. that they follow first in, first out; that they stay relatively close to TAT estimates), and yet we continue to give them money despite the disappointments. Insert Einstein's definition of insanity here..
  20. or maybe the grader they were assigned to was quicker than yours... who knows?! Though I think they were alittle strict by like 1-2 grade points (estimated 5.0 is coming back a 4.5; estimated 6.0 coming back a 5.0). Cant win them all I guess.
  21. don't know if it made a difference, but they were packed together with the Express and Standard submissions received on 6/29.
  22. Modern FT Received on 7/11/22 shipped out 7/28 Economy FT Received on 6/29/22 shipped out on 7/28
  23. I think we've all been here long enough to know that these numbers stopped meaning anything since mid-2020. We need to break away from this cycle of punishment we impose on ourselves by having these expectations
