  1. To All, If Metropolis Comics, or anyone else other than me, contacts you about buying the following Frank Miller art, Sin City: The Big Fat Kill The Dark Knight Strikes Again #3 pages 2 Lone Wolf and Cub covers 300 #4 cover and 2 interior pages..... please be aware that who ever offers you the art does not have the authority nor the permission to sell the art. These people do not have the art in their possession. The art is owned by Lynn Varley and I am her authorized agent to sell the above mentioned art. Do not offer to buy any of the art from anyone other than me, as you will not receive any art. This note from Lynn Varley should make everything clear. To clients of Mitch Itkowitz, I am told that several pieces of art were made available for sale by Metropolis Comics, an entity I'd never heard of until my representative, Mitch Itkowitz, made me aware of them tonight. The art in question is owned by me. I have not authorized Metropolis Comics nor do I intend to authorize Metropolis Comics to sell any art on my behalf. Lynn Varley Thank you, Mitch Itkowitz Graphic Collectibles
  2. I sold a Kirby Cap and Falcon corner box original for $10,000 at SDCC 2016. Figures were about 5 inches tall each, on 2 boards. I have an appreciation for corner box art, too. One of my regrets is passing up the Buscema CONAN corner box art from Mitch at SDCC about 10 years ago. A small, simple piece, but also almost a perfect representation of Buscema's Conan. Still, I wouldn't (and didn't) value it as much as an A page. It was just something cool. No more, no less.
  3. Hey Will, Not many collectors kept all my catalogs. I don't even have a set of them anymore. Wish I had kept one set though. MI
  4. Hi Ted, Enjoyed talking with you too. The odds of me ever exhibiting at the New work show is virtually nonexistent, for many, many reasons. MI
  5. Thanks for the kind words. I was Trimpe's rep for a while about 20 years ago. He was local to me and I called and asked. Interesting though, he only wanted to sell covers, no Hulk interiors. MI
  6. The Kirby art on my site will remain on my site. Good luck to the Kirby family and their lawyer to actually get any art back. MI
  7. The Detective 62 cover is in a private collection and will never be for sale. I owned the Jungle 1 cover back in the mid 1970s. There are a couple All-Star covers I've owned, as well as Crandall Blackhawk covers. There are quite a few GA covers, but many are in private collections now. Who knows if they ever will be sold. MI
  8. Whoa! Was going to bid and consign because I've known Randy a long time. After reading this, I think not. MI
  9. Am I missing something? Why would you say that? MI
  10. A color comprehensive, or "Comp" is really no more than a detailed color or b/w idea sketch. MI
  11. I sold the "Coffy" painting years ago. And if anyone with deep pockets is interested in the Star Trek : The Motion Picture original painting by Bob Peak, contact me. MI
  12. Is that comment serious or in jest? Oh he is serious. Lets just say Mitch and Frank dont get along and leave it at that. Doug, You know nothing about how I get along with Frank. I have no problems with Frank. If he has a problem with me, I know nothing about it. I have nothing but the utmost respect for Frank. There are many, many variables that come into play between Frank and I. Things you will never know. Like I know you're getting that art from Frank's assistant. You're not dealing with Frank directly, regardless what you might say.
  13. Important takeaway, thanks Mitch. I wanted to also add that they should worry, too. If there could be this much anger with Mike, one of the most popular figures in the hobby, imagine the reaction if the exposed shiller was someone who WASN'T so well-liked. Which is pretty much everyone else. Yourself and my self included? ?
  14. Do you really think the auction houses are going to turn down potential revenue? Do you think the dealers that consign will stop shilling? They'll need to continue to shill to keep the value of their originals up, otherwise all they have is a lot of self-perceived value. MI
  15. And to think I sold them for $75 each back in the early 80s. MI
  16. I still collect OA from a dead comic title and character and will never profit on it should I sell in the future. That's fine by me. As for the DK3 variants, I found five covers that really struck me and I purchased two of them. The others either weren't for sale or were above what I wanted to pay. I inquired about DK3 Miller art as well and just got a "nope" from his rep. I'm not Frank's rep. MI
  17. I sold the complete ASM 121-122 books decades ago. One of them was auctioned by heritage a year or so ago. MI
  18. So what would a page by Tony Moore from Walking Dead #1 sell for? MI
  19. Miller layouts on 8 1/2 x 11 paper. Janson light box the layouts to comic art board and inks said comic art board I had sold this entire issue for Janson back in the day. Since Miller did not actually put pencils to the board, Janson got all the art. Mitch I.
  20. Yes Terry inked the art over Franks pencils. MI
