  2. Whatever that Dark Knight acetate thingy is, it's not legit. The ONLY time any acetates were made from the line art was when Lynn Varley used them as she was painting the pages over blue lines. And I'm the only one selling the painted DK art for Lynn. These dolts who sell stats and art copied onto acetate.... none of it is legit. Color keys (used to color proof covers from the 60s) are legit. Those are 4 acetates of 4 colors (Blue, red, yellow, black) and they are far and few between. The companies did not make copies of the art. Silver prints were made up till the 60s. You can tell those as they are shiny and a heavier weight than regular stats. Just a bunch of *%!?)*&!! trying to make money off of unknowing collectors. MI
  3. I've been selling comic art for over 40 years. I've never seen an uptick in interest in art when ANY superhero movie opens. Many people see the movie. Maybe .00005 of those movie goers know the art even exists. Maybe half of those people have the money to buy an original. Maybe. MI

  6. Have you looked at the earlier issues of Boys' Ranch? Can you say that the earlier issues art look like this page?
  7. Unfortunately, not much Kirby on this page. Possible layouts, and tighter pencils in some panels. No Meskin, or extremely very little Meskin on this page. No Robinson either. If you look at the earlier stories of Boys' Ranch, the art is virtually all Kirby. As time went on, he had little time for all the work he did, and many of the later stories went to others in the studio.

  18. If I wanted to let everyone know the details / contract between Lynn and Frank, I would have done so. Since it is none of anyone's business, suffice to say that I "accused" no one. Merely made a statement that Metropolis OR ANY ONE ELSE had no authorization or permission to offer, or even inquire about said art. There is a certain protocol I have to go through when I get to sell the art, and confidentiality was broken the second Frank presented the art to Metro. Now since the list of art I mention was sent via email, Metro knew that I was Lynns rep and yet they still attempted to ascertain prices, when prices were posted on the original list I sent to Franks official rep. At no time did I send anything to Metro. That was Franks doing. There is a 3 day window in which Frank has to buy art. The collector was contacted after the third day, at which time Frank's window of opportunity was closed. Now, obviously Vince knew that I am Lynns agent yet contacted at least one collector for information. It would not have mattered what the collector said as the prices listed on the email list are not negotiable. No one but Frank is supposed to see that list. That's the way it's been for 6 years. Now if Metro took this as an attack, it wasn't my intention. I'm just protecting my consignor as anyone else who reps an artist would. Lynn certainly never had an idea what was going on. Handled badly on both sides, maybe. Why didn't I call Metro? Why didn't they call me? They knew I was the agent and it was after the 3 day grace period. Are Metro bad people? Nope. Misinformed? Possibly but who knows. I certainly wasn't privy to any conversation that took place between Frank and Metro. MI
  19. Vince, I've sent you a private email, and consider this matter done. I now have the originals in my possession. I hope you enjoy continued success in all your endeavors. Best, Mitch Itkowitz Graphic Collectibles
  20. Thanks. I'm quite sure if the person at Metropolis knew what was going on, he would not have offered the art, but who knows. Sorry to hear this is happening to Lynn and to you Mitch. Sadly, this seems to be happening more and more these days. It's happened to me and to several people I know well on all kinds of artwork over the last several years. People shopping art they don't own, don't have possession of and aren't authorized to negotiate deals for. There actually used to be a website where none of the artwork was owned by the dealer "selling" the pieces. They were scans taken from other dealer's sites with prices marked up. Smart of you to clear the air to make sure no one makes a mistake on a piece of art they are offered.
  21. Someone at Metropolis was given a list of art from someone who was not supposed to give said list.
  22. Lynn Varley has physical possession of the art, nor did she authorize anyone other than me to sell the art. Like I said, I'm sure Metropolis doesn't know the full story. MI
  23. Not accusing anyone of "phishing". And yes, I'm talking about Metropolis Comics. I'm quite sure that Metropolis didn't know the circumstances behind the art, but I had to mention them, as they were the people who were "offered" the art. MI
