  1. Scratch or crease on that back cover, I'd press out the spine dents, 9.0/9.2
  2. couple of little lines coming off the spine & a dinged corner. 9.0/9.2
  3. I see some light foxing or soiling along the white areas of the back spine. 9.0 if it's foxing, 9.2/9.4 if it's cleanable soiling
  4. 9.4 with pressing, 9.0 as is. There's an indention on Colossus. IMO grading the profit from slabbing is negligible. A best case scenario would be around a $100 selling price & you can do the math on fees for grading/pressing/shipping. The Secret Wars books are pretty easy to come by, even newsstand editions.
  5. Passed on some of my favorite GL books in favor of hunting down his first professional work for signature. It's too bad the label doesn't recognize this (esp since they advertised this book in the SS announcement)
  6. you should post your question in the root 'Signature Room' forum
  7. 6.0/6.5, leaning to the lower based mostly on the creasing. I think the dust shadow is not significant at that grade & if it's a bindery tear, there's not problem with that in the 6s
  8. It's a little hard to see the substance in the main cover shot, I'll take your word for it. I think it looks higher, but if there are substances & stains, there's no evidence CGC won't hammer it to 6.0 or lower.
  9. I have two bronze age 4.5s and there's almost no way this book should grade lower. Any grader can have a bad day & it's a shame there's not a good way to deal with something like this. I'm sure there isn't b/c it would be abused constantly since everyone thinks their books should all grade 3 spots higher than what the label says.
  10. Again, the regular CGC contest has skewed my view of DC books. I am consistently bumping up a grade from what my eyes tell me b/c I've come in low so often on SA Batman & Superman stuff. On the plus side, my GA grading ability has improved a lot over the last year.
  11. Top edge is a bit rough & looks grubby in the TLFC The white areas also don't look very clean. Since it looks there's some moderate foxing on the back, the front discoloration might also be partially from foxing. 7.0, maybe 7.5
  12. 5.0/5.5 since that corner stain is persistent, maybe soaked through
  13. I believe CGC will call this a transfer stain, there are book-to-book varieties, but obviously this is just internal migration over time. My reading of the book is that this type of ink stain/transfer has very little impact on the grade, especially given the accumulation of other little defects. I see some grime, bends, imperfect corners, etc. I'd give this a 7.5±0.5
  14. did you do some cleaning already? I was sort of pricing in that being something still to do. That brown patch on the BRBC if it doesn't come off might knock it down a grade or 2 depending on what it is
  15. 6.5±0.5. I think 7.0 is a reach, but within the possible range if thus was cleaned up. One note of caution, I have strong suspicion that CCS pressing took a couple of my books with loose staples to cover detachments. Tread with caution about who works on it.
  16. 8.0. I'd press to take out the dent, but that looks like a color-breaking issue on the corner
  17. Is the cover detached at the top staple, or just loose?
  18. I think it's out of the bag too, but it always throws me for a loop when books are photographed on top of the bag & board. The ideal background is a white or black solid surface with at least an inch or so of the background showing on ever edge. Best guess here is >9.2. I don't see any defects, but something can always be hiding. It's worth grading even though there are so many editions of this book that collectively there are a lot of graded copies. Even this rarer one has nearly 1K copies graded on the census. If you hold off, TM might do another in-house signing.
