  1. +1 with all above. There are 17 1st prints in the census (highest 9.6) & 12 2nd prints (highest 9.0). The water damage on the front has this maxing out around 5, but with something really rare, I don't think it should be part of the decision process.
  2. You can have a around 1" of tears at 7.0. The denting looks pressable, but take it to someone who does this kind of work regularly
  3. I tend to agree that the signature being unverified is not a reason in this case. The signature looks genuine & the book is important enough that there would certainly be ROI. The other company could give you a verified label.
  4. I see some indentions on the BRFC parallel to the outer edge. A bend on the BLBC & possibly some spine roll/stacking crease. Hard to say from these photos. The back has some soiling and maybe some light staining on the back center of the outer edge. I'd want to inspect more closely. Lots of these issue could be improved significantly by c/p, but as is, 7.0/7.5.
  5. Guessing 7.5 give or take unless there's a known issue with this particular book being distributed like this.
  6. From March 2023. Second signature on the Pro to compliment Amanda Conner
  7. I could be missing something, but Things in the VG range usually have a lot of color breaking defects. The indents are from the staples, yes? They count against books at some point, but it's also not the same as other similar defects b/c it's cause by how the book is designed/manufactured.
  8. This looks in the 7s with the little tears along the top edge and what appears to be a spine tear at the bottom corner. I'd want to inspect & press this one b/c of the staple indentions. Could be boosted into the 8s. I don't *think* this one can go above that, but Magazine standards are different from comics, so I never know exactly how hard/lenient to be.
  9. Since I did it before, here are my notes. Not quite a 1 pt round, but not bad. A 3.0 on the JIM seems quite generous to me, but good for the owner of that book!
  10. pressed would likely hit low 9s. Around 7.5 as is.
  11. I'm more at 6.5, but a good press could do wonders. I still see 8.5 as optimistic. I'd go with 8.0 pressed.
  12. this will depend on how strongly attached that staple is & the length of the tear. I have an 8.5 & a 9.0 both with staple tears being the only note. Is the worst part 1/4"-1/2"? From the photo, I'd say 8.0 as a ceiling
  13. 3.5/4.0. I'd say 4.0 ceiling just for the two small pieces out. Drop it another grade for the spine stress & darkening pages.
