  1. 4.5/5.0 hard to grade b/c the white makes creases less apparent, the white is pretty clean though, which is nice.
  2. 3.5/4.0. Leaning lower b/c that tanning is dark
  3. Submitted, so when the next count of bullseyes & low overall scores goes up, you'll know someone else submitted theirs too.
  4. Spider-Man should have tried a plastic case instead of webs.
  5. I'm topping out at 5.5 b/c of the stains and whatnot on the back. It's just where CGC seems to land on stuff like this right now.
  6. 5.5/6.0 maybe a tad higher for a 75 year old book, but that top edge is going to be an impediment. I'd think closer to 8.0 or better without that 1 edge.
  7. 3.5±0.5. On top of the cover defects, those pages are pretty tanned.
  8. yip. Bags hide a myriad of defects. I no longer buy comics online if the seller didn't photograph out of the bag, or won't provide those photos when asked.
  9. Water damage is tricky. I would be really hesitant to plunk down Hulk #1 money without extensive photos. It's hard for me to even tell whether the TRBC is just soiling or more water damage given the angle of the photo. If you're not buying in-person, be suspicious if a seller is reluctant to provide all the images you ask for.
  10. Looks like those dents could benefit from a press. I'd expect a 7.5 for the color breaking stress lines. Sometimes a cover that shows defects really well will appear to grade higher with the same defects as a light colored book with the same defects though. So I wouldn't be totally shocked if it landed in the 8s
  11. On my reinspection, it's a small water stain. Weird one though. It's like 1/2 moon instead of a circle. Size of a half quarter. I don't see it on the front side & I don't find more extensive evidence of contact with water elsewhere.
  12. I'll check it later. I'm not sure a small stain hurts in the 4s. It murders anything from getting to 6.
  13. Creature from the Black Lagoon has always been my favorite Universal Monster movie & then this forum informed me that this comic existed. Seems like another Gold Key that a lot of circulating copies are in rough condition. I actually pulled the trigger on this one despite the unverified signature in ink of Carl Pattison on the cover b/c it looked pretty nice otherwise, and the writing sort of blends in a little on the dark background (plus it was relatively inexpensive). The small spine split was not obvious in the photos & not disclosed in the listing. Not sure I'd invest in grading in this conditions, especially since the Creature doesn't even show up until more than halfway through the comic. (Also, that's a shadow in the back cover. I was too lazy to dig the book out again to retake the picture)
  14. Front looks around 9.0, but the back cover is a little concerning. The discoloration (if it's staining of any kind) on the TLBC could drag this down 2.0-3.0. The soiling along the back spine looks like a candidate for cleaning.
  15. My first thought was around 6.5 b/c of the TLBC, some slight discoloration of the paper & wear around the corners & edges. I could see this going 1 or 2 grades higher since it looks so nice for something that's 50 years old.
  16. Really hard to say without it in hand. 9.2/9.4 ceiling I suspect.
  17. I have a 9.6 that has something similar (maybe smaller) on the back. It's the only thing that saves you here. 9.2/9.4 is a better bet
