  2. I suppose it's OK to own a DC comic if the cover is cool. Interesting, the grade label when it arrive was higher than what was advertised. Will be curious to see which side people land on.
  3. story by my hometown NBC affiliate & I'll wager the station that played the creature feature movies including CFTBL back in the day (I mean, I have a 1/3 chance I've guessed correctly)
  4. around 5.5. Not sure I'd spend the $ grading. CGC 8.0 & 8.5 sold for around $90, so around the cost of grading 3 comics?
  5. White is tough to grade from photos, except for the dirt. 5.5/6.0 but not a lot of confidence if there are "color breaking" defects in the white sections that don't show up well.
  6. 5.5/6.0. I'm more toward the lower end, but maybe since the worst offenders are on the back it has a chance.
  7. Around 6.5 now, 7.0 with C/P. If all the grime came off the back and that indention? in the yellow part of the postcard mostly fixes, maybe a 7.5
  8. I'm assuming the long thing on the back is a crease and the short one at the top is the tear. Looks 5.0/5.5, again leaning lower
  9. 5.0/5.5 leaning toward the lower end of the range.
  10. 5.5/6.0 just to many color breaking defects to go any higher.

  12. Looks to me like the 2" split is on the cusp of becoming a 4" split. Pressing could be risky. I don't see the potential water stain, but staining will be an issue if it's there. The square bounds are easy to split like this. Limit here is around 4.5/5.0 probably
  13. along the bottom of the front cover are most of the problems. Some color breaking stuff around the spine, the man in the blue turban has some white on his cheeks and King Kul looks like he has a fingerprint on him. 7.5, maybe 8.0
  14. I see some color breaking creases, edge wear, ink loss in the blue box below the price. 7.0
  15. 8.5/9.0. A little edge wear & some light scuffing/ink loss in the black around the title
  16. It took me a few minutes to figure out the perspective on the spine photo. I'm going with 5.0. My read in the guide is there seems to be more leniency than I would expect for chews, if that's what it is. I think you get a little lucky b/c you can't really see them from a top down view. It looks like the impression from the writing could be pressed out if you were to roll the dice.
  17. Ok. Think my guess is valid then. Hope for a 6.5, expect a grade lower.
  18. CGC guide says a sub crease maxes out at 7.0. Since I can't see the crease, I'm going to say there's a chance 6.5/7.0. The only other thing I really see is the top/left top edges of the FC look a bit rough & grubby. Seems like a book very susceptible to looing grubby with all the white areas.
  19. Is that a piece missing along the top, back edge? It looks like it is, and it continues through several pages. Need some info there to make a good assessment. This book is very much on my radar. Creature from the Black Lagoon was the first creature feature I ever remember watching as a kid. Probably explains a lot of my interest in Man-Thing, Swamp Thing, Manphibian, et al. Pending the divot, I'd say 6.0±0.5
