  1. I'll check my CGC guide later, but my guess is that this will be treated almost like a crease b/c of how long & noticeable it is. I'm throwing out a 7.5. It's also rumored that this book is treated a little harshly by CGC b/c it's one of several that is "over-submitted"
  2. For me, it's the apparent tanning of the back cover that's more problematic, still 6.5/7.0
  3. top & bottom edges are cut off in the back cover photo
  4. 9 give or take. These covers are rough. Cardstock that probably isn't pressable and metallic covers scratch easily
  5. There's a weird stain near the CCA box, but it also looks like it's on the backing board and the other photo. Dirty lens/scanner? The yellow just looks like some bleeding color. The stress lines along the spine seem more important to the grade. 8.0/8.5
  6. Not as optimistic on this one. 7.0 Looks a lot like a 7.0 I have from the same era
  7. I agree with this. You be lucky to hit 6.0 with a very effective c/p
  8. 8.0 max *if* all the smudgy looking black stuff comes off
  9. Not that I'm aware of, but based on (apparent) birth years in usernames & dated cultural references, that's my guess
  10. 7.5/8.0 with a press for all the things you list & it's only 30 years old.
  11. I see something in the 7.5/8.0 range. Between the cardstock cover & color breaks, not a lot to move the needle. I think the spine is a little less of an issue just b/c of the cover paper type. I bet most copies of this book show some of this & this might be on the more severe end, but still only cost a grade.
  12. just the one gripper hole & a stress line. >9.2
  13. I feel like the average age of people here is getting close to 50. Probably a younger crew with different sensibilities on the reddits
  14. I want to go lower, but it's ASM so I'm throwing out a 9.0 pressed
  15. I see a divot above Fourth and the TRFC is mangled a bit, which breaks color. 2-3" color-breaking crease in the BRFC as well. I'm more at 7.5/8.0 but for a nice presenting book. Most of these defects are not going to press out
  16. 9.0 as is. A couple grades higher if the grime comes off
  17. 5.0/5.5. Looks nicer, but I think the fade costs a couple of grades.
  18. What's going on with the color loss along the outer edge?
  19. I think this is more like a 3.0/3.5. Just too much wear and tear on a (relatively) new comic. Still an affordable book in high grade all things considered. We adopted a 10 year old greyhound about 15 years ago. She shredded every sheet of paper, or magazine she could get her toothless mouth on. I was super careful with comics, so she never got one. I even have a little ziploc full of some of her handiwork. Your book is way more valuable as a keepsake than a collectable.
  20. Different areas of discoloration probably cap it. 5.5±0.5, but it's really going to depend how severely that's treated with a book after 76 years. I'd cap it at 5.0 if it was from a later era, but I wouldn't be shocked with a 6.0, maybe even a 6.5
