  1. Doesn't look like a printer's crease to me, more garden variety. 3.5/4.0
  2. looks like a top to bottom crease, so 3.5 with the other defects
  3. The visible defects don't appear pressable to me. Stress lines across the back & rounded corners. Thinking this tops out around 8.0 either way.
  4. I've been thinking about getting back to finding early/first creator contributions. Especially since it feels like most things I would otherwise want to add to the PC are crazy expensive. Also been learning more about fanzines from small indy publishing operations since following boards here. I can't tell for sure, but this is listed in some places as the earliest known Starlin/Milgrom work. I'm sure something must be pre-date it, but IDK. Grabbed it off of MCS for way less than comparable or lower grade copies on auction sites, so pretty sure it grades at least to their standards. Has some kind of color chip on the spine, and a small corner crease. FYI it's magazine size. What say you? MCS says:
  5. Looks like overspray to me. Looks like the staining inside isn't too bad, so stick with the 5.5 ceiling
  6. 4.5/5.0. Another tweener IMO. FMV around $300. Historical census data doesn't differentiate between newsstand/direct, but there there are nearly 25K graded copies & this would land in the bottom 10%. If I care about a book for my PC & the price isn't prohibitive, I'd buy a higher grade copy slabbed or not and try to sell this as-is. I'm good and part 1 of this plan, terrible at part 2, so I have numerous key comics in mid-grade condition just sitting around.
  7. You are correct, this is the newsstand edition. *If* there are direct and newsstand editions, the scannable UPC is the newsstand. Direct editions may have a slash across the UPC or something like a spider-man graphic in the box. The front looks pretty solid. Maybe toward a 9.0; however, it does look like there's a water stain across the top back edge. I'd want to see the inside of the front & back cover for more staining evidence and whether or not the stain goes into the inner pages before making a definitive grade assignment. Just the staining I can see probably drops this below 6.0. That means FMV around $200, so it depends on what your plan is. Cost to grade, press, ship is around $40-50. Might look like a higher grade book in a slab for a PC, or you might just be breaking even on selling it raw vs graded depending on how you acquired it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  8. rumor is more lenient for this reason. My slabbed mag collection is n=4. Two of those look to me like they are a grade higher than something comparable in comic form
  9. 8.5±0.5, corner blunting & spine stress, probably keep this out of the NM- & higher grades
  10. 6.5±0.5 seems about right. Not a high enough grade or key issue for grading IMO
  11. Black covers should be illegal since they reveal everything. 7.5/8.0
  12. Definitely need better picks. 6.0 or better.
  13. c/p for 8.0. If it comes in higher, I wouldn't be shocked.
  14. 3.5. This looks more like a possible 3.0, but I'll offset that with an early ASM bump.
  15. 4.0/4.5. There are a lot of longish creases that break color. They're not the most prominent, but I see them. The soiling is going to be an issue if it doesn't come off.
  16. This looks rougher than both the 4.5s I have, so 4.0.
