  1. Today, January 20th, is Nostalgic Investments’ Comic Art NEW ART FRIDAYS! Featured Artists: Jack Kirby Gene Colan Larry Stroman Featured Page: Wonder Woman #194 Cover (Signed) by Adam Hughes No wonder Adam Hughes is considered a master when drawing the female heroines. When I first saw this cover in a collection, I was hoping that I would get a chance to eventually trade for it. This is clearly one of the best Hughes covers that I’ve ever seen. NEW ART FRIDAYS update this week includes art from Jack Kirby, Adam Hughes, Gil Kane, Luke Ross, Mike Sekowsky, Win Mortimer, Gene Colan, Larry Stroman, Jim Aparo, and Werner Roth! Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen #135 p22 (Splash)(Signed) by Jack Kirby Wonder Woman #194 Cover (Signed) by Adam Hughes Tales To Astonish #88 p4 by Gil Kane Spectacular Spider-Man #239 p5 by Luke Ross Justice League America #10 p13 (Large Art) by Mike Sekowsky Night Nurse #4 p7 by Win Mortimer Avengers #211 p26 by Gene Colan X-Factor #78 p15 by Larry Stroman Phantom Stranger #25 p8 by Jim Aparo Rawhide Kid #64 p1 (Signed) by Werner Roth See all these New Art Fridays pages at www.nostalgicinvestments.com/fridays and hundreds of comic art pages at www.nostalgicinvestments.com/comic-art Payment plans and trades are always available.
  2. Nostalgic Investments’ Comic Art SPOTLIGHT MONDAYS SPOTLIGHT MONDAYS - On Monday we will spotlight a special piece of art for your collecting pleasure. MEN CALL ME.. MAGNETO! X-Men #17 p20 (Splash) by Jack Kirby and Werner Roth This is clearly the biggest image of Magneto that you will ever find. Certainly the greatest villain along with Dr. Doom that exists in the Marvel Universe. To have this splash from an early X-men issue and drawn by Kirby is all that one could hope for. 3. Today, January 13th, is Nostalgic Investments’ Comic Art NEW ART FRIDAYS! Featured Artists: Jim Starlin John Buscema Jack Kirby Featured Page: Giant-Size Dracula #2 Cover by Pablo Marcos This is a nearly perfect Dracula cover with the bound damsel in distress being attacked. Dracula is in a fierce battle with an Elder God. It even has a black background which gives it great depth. Having it drawn by Pablo Marcos seals the deal for me. 4. Nostalgic Investments’ Comic Art SPOTLIGHT MONDAYS SPOTLIGHT MONDAYS - On Monday we will spotlight a special piece of art for your collecting pleasure. DOCTOR DOOM and FRANKLIN vs MEPHISTO Fantastic Four Annual #20 Cover (Signed) by Ron Frenz I think we all would like a Fantastic Four cover featuring Doctor Doom. This cover also has Franklin Richards teaming up with his family's arch villain trying to take on Mephisto. When Marvel Studios announces the Fantastic Four movie, a cover like this will be much more expensive. 6. Today, December 30th, is Nostalgic Investments’ Comic Art NEW ART FRIDAYS! Featured Artists: Steve Ditko Ross Andru Jack Kirby Featured Page: Amazing Spider-Man #337 p19 by Erik Larsen It’s well known, according to Eric Larsen himself, that a fire occurred in his garage and that he lost his Spider-Man original art that was stored there. It doesn’t happen often that quality pages come out on the market. It doesn’t get much better than that last panel of Spider-Man swinging through the city. There are actually 2 of Spider-Man’s greatest villains on this page, Sandman and the Vulture. There’s a ½” tear on the middle left margin that doesn’t go into the art. NEW ART FRIDAYS update this week includes art from Erik Larsen, Ross Andru, Jack Kirby, Mike Sekowsky, Keith Pollard, Steve Ditko, Jose Delbo, Whilce Portacio, Don Heck, Howard Bender, Bryan Hitch, and Sal Buscema! 7. Today, December 16th, is Nostalgic Investments’ Comic Art NEW ART FRIDAYS! Featured Artists: Walt Simonson John Byrne Jack Kirby Featured Page: Wonder Woman #54 Cover by George Perez I almost raised the price on this cover after I saw the 2 Justice League covers sell in last week's Heritage Auction for $288,000 and $135,000, both drawn by George Perez as this one is. I avoided the temptation as I recently got this cover as part of a trade at around this price. NEW ART FRIDAYS update this week includes art from Walt Simonson, George Perez, John Byrne, Ron Wilson, Jack Kirby, Gene Colan, Herb Trimpe, Larry Stroman, Luke Ross, and Curt Swan! X-Factor #38 p1 by Walt Simonson Wonder Woman #54 Cover by George Perez Incredible Hulk #319 p3 by John Byrne Crypt of Shadows #18 Cover by Ron Wilson Fantastic Four #248 p26 by John Byrne Kirby Virginia D.C. 8. Today, November 18th, is Nostalgic Investments’ Comic Art NEW ART FRIDAYS! Featured Artists: John Buscema Jack Kirby Jim Aparo Featured Page: Marvel Fanfare #3 Cover (Double-Cover) by Dave Cockrum To have a Cockrum X-men cover is a dream of every X-men collector. To have a double cover is nearly unheard of. Dave’s covers from the first run, 4 years prior, will run you $200,000-$400,000. This one is from the time of the second run. I was recently offered a cover from that run for $250,000. It seemed a bit ambitious. NEW ART FRIDAYS update this week includes art from Jim Starlin, John Buscema, MR. Dillin, Herb Trimpe, Jim Aparo, Craig Brasfield, Sal Buscema, Alex Saviuk, Jack Kirby, and John Byrne! Iron Man #56 p15 by Jim Starlin Savage Sword of Conan #98 p2 by John Buscema Hawkman #27 p1 by MR. 10. Today, October 28th, is Nostalgic Investments’ Comic Art NEW ART FRIDAYS! Featured Artists: Barry Windsor-Smith John Romita, Sr. Bill Everett Featured Page: Conan The Barbarian #6 p14 by Barry Windsor-Smith This is one of the best Conan pages that I’ve seen in a long time. The closeups of Conan are gorgeous by Barry Smith, and the black background adds great depth to the page. It doesn’t hurt to have a beautiful maiden in bondage about to be sacrificed. Not to mention that Sal inks on the Barry pencils makes it even more pleasing. NEW ART FRIDAYS update this week includes art from Barry Windsor-Smith, John Romita, Ron Frenz, Jack Kamen, Rik Levens, Gil Kane, Yanick Paquette, Sal Buscema, Jim Mooney, Bill Everett, and Matt Wagner! 11. Nostalgic Investments’ Comic Art SPOTLIGHT MONDAYS SPOTLIGHT MONDAYS - On Monday we will spotlight a special piece of art for your collecting pleasure. Can’t get much better Fantastic Four #256 p1 (Oversized) by John Byrne Maybe the most important thing to know about this piece is that it’s huge, it’s 171/2”x 12”. That’s the size of large art pieces. Normally these splashes are 15”x10”. So the impact of seeing this extraordinary piece hanging on your wall is profound. This splash has it all; it features the whole team, and they are in the negative zone, which gives you all that black cosmic background that we art collectors love. You can’t even buy a great X-men Byrne page for this price. This is clearly better than most of the covers in the run. I hate to tell you what a great Fantastic Four cover will cost you nowadays. 12. Today, October 14th, is Nostalgic Investments’ Comic Art NEW ART FRIDAYS! Featured Artists: Travis Charest Murphy Anderson Mike Mignola Featured Page: WildCATS/X-Men Prime #1 p36 by Travis Charest Travis Charest has a fervent collector base, and the one thing they all agree on is this title brought out the best in Travis. Travis was at the height of his artistic prowess in 1998. This is a tremendous page from the number one issue. This is a rare offering as these pages have disappeared in collections and infrequently see the light of day. NEW ART FRIDAYS update this week includes art from Ron Wilson, Travis Charest, Frank Giusto, Jack Kirby, Scott Clark, Murphy Anderson, Vatche Mavlian, Don Perlin, and Mike Mignola! Masters of the Universe #7 Cover (He-Man) by Ron Wilson WildCATS/X-Men Prime #1 p36 by Travis Charest Hand of Fate #16 Cover by Frank Giusto Tales to Astonish #37 p9 (4th Appearance Ant-Man) by Jack Kirby Stormwatch #9 Cover by Scott Clark Brave and the Bold #62 p13 (Large Art) by Murphy Anderson Strange Tales #143 p6 (Large Art) by Jack Kirby and Howard Purcell Spider-Man and Wolverine #2 p7 by Vatche Mavlian Beauty and the Beast #2 p9 by Don Perlin Hellboy King Sketch 2 by Mike Mignola See all these New Art Fridays pages at www.nostalgicinvestments.com/fridays and hundreds of comic art pages at www.nostalgicinvestments.com/comic-art Payment plans and trades are always available.
  13. Nostalgic Investments’ Comic Art SPOTLIGHT MONDAYS SPOTLIGHT MONDAYS - On Monday we will spotlight a special piece of art for your collecting pleasure. Everett and Spidey Magic Marvel Tales #28 Cover by Marie Severin Bill Everett was at his masterful peak in 1970. This is as flawless a Spider-Man cover as you could hope for with Spidey battling a great villain, the Molten Man, and that Spidey web is on full display. Plus, you have this battle taking place in the atmospheric bowels of New York. The art is spectacular, don’t take my word for it just take a close look at this cover yourself. As to the price, if this were a Romita cover it would be double the price. You will never look at this cover in your collection and be disappointed with it. 14. Today, September 30th, is Nostalgic Investments’ Comic Art NEW ART FRIDAYS! Featured Artists: Mort Meskin Marie Severin David Finch Featured Page: World’s Finest Comics #73 p1 (Large Art) by Curt Swan Not only is this an exquisite Curt Swan splash, but it is the earliest known art that exists from one of the DC masters. Swan started on World’s Finest in issue #71. Art from the 1950’s is quite rare to come by, and this one is a pretty outstanding example featuring both Batman and Superman and their secret identities. NEW ART FRIDAYS update this week includes art from Curt Swan, Sal Buscema, Jack Kirby, Gil Kane, Carmine Infantino, Mort Meskin, David Finch, Marie Severin, Brett Booth, and Larry Lieber! World’s Finest Comics #73 p1 (Large Art) by Curt Swan Spectacular Spider-Man #145 Cover by Sal Buscema Tales to Astonish #69 p7 (Large Art) by Jack Kirby Chamber of Chills #16 by Pencils: Gil Kane Infantino Ordway Justice Society Illustration by Carmine Infantino Sensation Comics #69 p5 (Large Art) by Mort Meskin Batman: The Dark Knight #4 p14+15 (Signed) by David Finch Astonishing Tales #20 p25 by Marie Severin Backlash/Spider-Man #2 p15 by Brett Booth Tales of Suspense #45 p12 (Large Art) by Larry Lieber See all these New Art Fridays pages at www.nostalgicinvestments.com/fridays and hundreds of comic art pages at www.nostalgicinvestments.com/comic-art Payment plans and trades are always available.
  15. Nostalgic Investments’ Comic Art SPOTLIGHT MONDAYS! SPOTLIGHT MONDAYS! - On Monday we will spotlight a special piece of art for your collecting pleasure. Cap and Destroyer kicking Nazi butt Invaders #18 Cover by Gil Kane Cap in full action mode. Gil Kane does a great job of capturing the intensity of Captain America in battle mode. Having the Destroyer, a hero from the Golden Age, is a rare treat for art collectors. This is his first appearance after 30 years away. Truly a wonderful cover that in auction nowadays would clearly sell for more than the asking price. At least that’s what I’ve been noticing. If you want a great battle cover from the 70’s featuring one of our greatest heroes, Captain America, then this one's for you. 16. Today, September 23rd, is Nostalgic Investments’ Comic Art NEW ART FRIDAYS! Featured Artists: Neal Adams Jack Kirby George Tuska Featured Page: Thor Annual #5 p20 by John Buscema How great is this battle page? I thought it was about time that I offered up an exceptional Buscema page. Every panel is outrageously good. God vs God. Olympus vs Asgard. As we know from the last Thor movie Hercules will play a part in the Marvel Universe, probably facing off against Thor. So the price of a page like this will clearly be much higher in a short time. NEW ART FRIDAYS! update this week includes art from John Buscema, Sal Buscema, Neal Adams, Brett Booth, Ron Lim, Jack Kirby, George Tuska, and Jim Aparo! Better than most covers. In the first issue he meets up with Man-Thing who you see on this page. Pages from number one issues are crazy hot at this time. This title ran for a decade and 100 issues. I was a bigger fan of this title growing up then the team up title, that’s because I loved the Thing so much.
