  1. And GPA includes BP in the final price.

  4. Right now I am just pulling (manually) GPA data when each of these auctions come up - I don't have a historical database. In theory, I could add a year (or two) going back but would be stuck picking the high or low from that year. I just don't have the time to compute the average of that year as GPA summary only shows high/low. My instinct is that most books have a curve that generally looks like this (this happens to be Amazing Spider-Man #14 6.0). I will also say that I rarely look at the Market reports available in GPA. But the August volume report was really interesting if anyone was curious about the relative size of the market for each of the comic ages. More context on the supply side of the equation.
  5. I do feel that the supply side of the equation is starting to change. Over the past few years, The weekly Heritage auctions would have ample higher grade ASM books for sale each week (think 6.5 to 8.5 of issues 1-20). It feels (I purposely am using feels because I have not crunched the data) that when those show up now there are more lower grade titles (2.0 to 5.0). same on clink - my waitlist has been showing fewer and fewer auction listings for tracked titles while the exchange inventory is swelling. Very often at prices that felt more aligned to the market of late 2021. Often listings are more than double clinks own auction results
  6. Part of my addiction is I just love the smell of those 70s and 80s books…..just a huge sensory memory. Yes - you might catch me with a literal nose in the book from time to time
  7. I will likely be posting the CL session 1 recap tomorrow - didn’t even bother trying to recap the hundreds of other listings in later sessions. No conclusions yet but did notice some lower prices on early ASM My nominally informed opinion of the market. - I do think things are going to get worse. Macro economics will dictate and the headwinds don’t look favorable for the next year at a minimum. (Look up recent comments by Larry summers). And my sentiment is about comic market overall - there will always be exceptions and outliers - for sellers, I believe the phrase is called “chasing the market down” A seller thinks a book is worth $1500 and doesn’t accept an offer for $1350. By time seller agrees to reprice to $1400 the market has already set a new price at $1200. And on and on. You hear real estate agents talk about it. I always assumed dealers were less susceptible (less emotional about the inventory) to this phenomenon but maybe dealers around here could opine. - for buyers, it was probably easy to get comfortable with “overpaying” in a rising market as the “will be worth more in the future” was likely just weeks away. Takes a strong constitution (or balance sheet) to drop 4 or 5 or 6 figures on a comic book and not worry about whether you have timed the bottom. As for me - I have been a net buyer for the past 4-5 years but will confess to slowing down especially on bigger ticket items. Found myself buying a lot of raw bronze and copper of no particular note or quality just to feed the addiction. Or 9.8 slabs of books that I was just pissed my personal childhood copy only got a 9.6 - Buying out of spite!
  8. Here were three that just missed on this CC auction....
  9. Big finish….. beat the June 2021 sale of $807k
  10. And another....with X-Men #1 9.6 to go....
  11. ComicConnect auction this week is going to add several books. Two closed today.
  12. The month's not over yet but the sale of a rather unremarkable 3.0 on eBay for $50k caught my eye (I suspect the difference between the price Ebay is showing now and what was captured in GPA is due to changes in exchange rate). Chart below updated with Sept sales today including last night's Heritage results.
  13. What outlet/platform were these sold on? Happy to add them to the tally And we are an inclusive thread - here. Supporting the little guys trying to achieve that next comma

  16. Will be adding more titles today as the Heritage Platinum auction starts closing out lots........at least 9 have already passed the 100k mark.
  17. Here are Session 1 and Session 2 results from the Aug/Sept Clink Featured Auction. A little different format this time as I included comparisons to Last, 90 Day, 12 Mos, and 2021 Avg. Was really interested in where current sales are relative to 2021. Was a bit surprised that for a large chunk of books here - the 12 mos average is higher than the 2021 average - would have guessed the opposite. I also put all issues of same title in same section - but left them in order of sale between Session 1 and Session 2. So you will see a 9.8, 9.4, 9.2, 9.8, 9.6 sequence for example - the second 9.8 would be from Session 2. And if you don't think page quality matters - a Werewolf by Night #32 9.4 WP sold for $9,050 in Session 1 while a 9.4 CR/OW sold for $5,090 in Session 2.
  18. I am working on a recap of both this past weekend’s Heritage auction as well as Session 1 of the current Clink auction. Since this was the first time I have looked at both at the same time - thought I would share a little chart of books that sold on both platforms on essentially the same day. If you twisted my arm and forced to choose - I would have said that Heritage is always higher........
  19. Adding Hulk #1 7.5 at $126k and TOS #39 9.2 at $130k - both from August Clink. And X-men #1 9.0 at $107.1k. That X-Men is materially lower than the 9.0 that just sold on Heritage in August for $156k.
  20. Here is the result ASM #35. $14.3k. The FF was down 30% from 2011 sale while ASM was down 54%.
  21. New books being added in addition to the list from Clink..... AF #15 6.5 - $125.8k FF #1 7,5 - $100k FF #5 9.4 - $210k - this is was way above the June Heritage sale of $162k. FF #5 9.0 - $119k
  22. I been tracking the lower grades FF #1 copies in another thread. It has been bouncing around for sure.......
