  1. Details on the "Int" books are very sparse, I did some research a few years ago and couldn't come up with much. They're not a recognized pedigree, but the books usually are very nice (average VF). Theory (and it's just a theory) is that they were issues destined for overseas via the U.S. Navy logistics chain. Whether they actually shipped to someone, if some copies were held back, etc., is anyone's guess. I have always been curious if this is the INT OO's sig. I have not seen it on any other copies. That's a new one on me, Andy - I can't read the signature too well, can you interpret what it says? looks like Francis Furch
  2. yup, during the 70s and most of the 80s
  3. Thanks but I wasn't even trying to list them in any order. I gather whatever low hanging fruit falls to the ground
  4. if you're driving alone, do you talk to yourself? but of course but in this case I have Trent with me SWISH technique. Get back to 80%+ kid
  5. you will like it Peter. Me and Steve looked it over very carefully and it is a solid book. Congrats and just shows you the power of these boards to connect with books at shows that you aren't at
  6. the 10 and 13 have great cover content, but Supe is drawn too small on those covers. If only he was larger like on the 7. The train on the 13 is great though. Unlike the early Actions, the Batman has a much larger drawn presence on the Pre Robins. The 10 and 13 is an early concept of a Superheroe flexing his superpowers. I haven't seen a 10 unrestored in the public market for a while and didn't a 13 poor recently sold on Heritage for almost 15K? plus the 13 supe image is just a mirror image flip of the 10 pose. The 10 is much tougher overall than any of the early action supe covers. Yes, a no back cover 13 went for $14k+ recently on a Sunday HA. Gotcha, but the concept is such signs of the times in the 1930's. Seems 10 is the scarcest of the for mega Supe covers 7,10,13,15. I would consider these four to be up there with all the pre-robbins. yah, but I'd say 1,7,10,13 are in a class of themselves. I've never liked the 15 cover as much. Maybe because it wasn't a Shuster cover. The 15 is still 1939 and early enough. Supe looks like Ronald Reagan on that cover I would think A1 and Tec27 is the class of their own. I agree that the cover art on 15 is not Shuster and may not have great appeal for some. It is the first large Superman/large Superheroe on cover. let me re-phrase: staying within the early Action run, I'd say the 1,7,10,13 are in a class of themselves. you do get a big superman on the 15 the 15 will keep surging as the 1-7-10-13 continue to skyrocket.

  10. When the mail order was going strong in the early to mid 2000s I worked it 10+ hours a day, 7 days a week I can work the store 1-8 hrs a day, whatever I feel like, and it's closed 2 days a week. The move was grueling but running is easy by comparison Yes, I have a captains chair in the store...you can see it in this pic you moved your store out of Panama City?
  11. Is it just me or does that seem like an overly aggressive price on the 'Tec 29? That appears to be more in the price range of a 'Tec 31 if we are using Gator's Price Per Point (PPP) measuring gauge. Have always felt this cover has been relatively underappreciated as compared to the 'Tec 31 cover, but it would still be interesting to see what this book would go for. it's priced at $17k pp and no doubt influenced by the $30k sale of the 1.5 copy that recently sold on CC. Tec 31s are way over $20k+ pp these days. The last Tec31 @ 1.0 sold for $43505 on CC so well over $40k pp! BTW...i have a Tec31 @ 1.0 which I'm more than likely going to sell Tec 31 is not yet 40k a point. Entry level books perform at different pace All about that eye appeal and pq of course. Not All 1.0s are created equal. I should know I have a whole slew of em' yup. And the 1.0 CC Tec 31 didn't have outstanding eye appeal but wasn't an eye sore either. It had a clutter of date stamps and a full store stamp that was somewhat hidden. I don't think anyone expected the final auction price to hit more than $30k-$35k as a stretch.

Same goes for the 1.5 Tec 29 that went for $30k.

Have always felt this cover has been relatively underappreciated as compared to the 'Tec 31 cover, but it would still be interesting to see what this book would go for. Although I've always loved Tec 31, I prefer the cover of 29. please share your experiences with that preference Peter I like the chemistry equipment on the 29 (like on the 18) Dark, brooding atmosphere - check Bats silhouetted on full moon - check Castle - check Mad scientist - check Knife-wielding assailant - check Skull in background - check Batman making dramatic entrance on his Bat-rope - check Batman's visage looking dark and menacing - check All that's missing is a girl in bondage, which DC rarely if ever authorized. all great points of emphasis. The 29 is less commonly seen as well. Both the 29 and 31 are cornerstone books in the pre Robin run.

  16. A beauty, and an old friend. Congrats! that was offered to me at SDCC 2003 along with another Cap Okajima. Glad to still see it in the old label.
  17. agreed. I like the frontal face shot. She looks confident and sexy. The 23 is still on target. Good comparison Peter.
  18. To Dark Knight (or anyone who has a complete interior Tec 27), probably anywhere north of $100k. If it's just the FC, maybe $50k? I know someone who just needs the FC to complete their 27. Sky's the limit if the part is going to complete a copy.
  19. Would this book still be a PLOD if there was no color touch on the cover, BUT if it did have the 4 pieces of tape on the interior of the cover? Or would it be a GLOD? no color touch + scotch tape = Blue label archival tape = PLOD I think this is how they are still assigning these, but it's all to CGC's discretion.
