  1. Indeed I have nice copy Bill...will look great with your Bat 1
  2. one of my favorite toys. That was the king of the Shogun Warriors! Scary thing is if you put a white lab coat on that toy it looks like the ASM movie lizard! its a top five vintage Godzilla toy for sure What great idea on the lizard coat! Wonder if Baby GAP carries white lab coats I'll need a 19.5" Spidey figure to go with it
  3. woolworth = thanks for sharing pics and congrats on your recent acquisitions. definitely concur with you on the price stickers giving it that extra nostalgic authentic vibe, especially with how good some of the ko's have gotten. they are easy to spot, but for the average non-toy collector, possibly not. woolworth was your original nickel and dime store true, the original price stickers really help to identify vintage boxes. The KOs these days (esp the boxes) can be hard to decipher. Generally, sharp clean boxes raise my suspicion. Old yellow tape on boxes are a vintage clue
  4. actually not sure cuz the decepticon symbol is missing off him. So dunno if it was rub or pre rub
  5. Nice to see some G1 Transformers...I used to have many and, recently, snagged up my favorites as a kid---dinobots! Starscream ain't bad either. Love the price stickers--just like a full date stamp in a comic if you ask me
  6. I'm very jealous nice run Paul. Bill's dream run to reacquire
  7. His penmanship on the packages are even cool!
  8. Well, just got another fantastic Heshka in the mail yesterday--did a custom Joker splash that ended up turning into an unplanned Batman 1 variant cover. I wanted the Joker interior splash to the first joker story to be the main focus, but without the word panels and with the batman logo from the Bat 1 cover. Ryan suggested making a giant Joker by including buildings in the foreground mixed with some Bat 1 details---red buildings, yellow background...the fog and bats really adds to the piece but the bat signal really put it over the top for me. I'm glad I decided to replace the big word box with the bat signal. I don't know if Kane's interior splash was ever considered for the cover, but I think this would have made a great Bat 1 cover. I've posted the original Kane splash and preliminary Heshka sketches for all to compare and see the progression of the piece. The "ten cent/no.1/spring issue" was a last minute add, which was a good decision. Enjoy everyone! Great job Ryan! Thanks
  9. Heshka-Vern old copy! I like bananas very nice Peter--how long will you hold this copy?
  10. very nice appeal Tom! BTW, Tec 35 is dated January 1940, but I've seen arrival dates on a few covers for Dec 1939; as we know books were out 1-3 months prior to cover month
  11. Impressive collection you are putting together! Thanks Ben - best part is the Cap 1
  12. Impressive collection you are putting together!
  13. If you ever upgrade that #9, please put me first in line for your under copy! Love that book! Offered you my copy in SD!
  14. Cool and looks like a little girl pulled a comic and is walking away from the turn cart to pay. She's a little blurry in the pic and can't read the title of the comic
  15. you are the ultimate archival master! dig up old stuff!
  16. Pre Bat Tecs are tough but not impossible. They can be tracked down through networking and private sales and public auctions. They are in demand but there is a very small window of collectors that are after them. Rarehighgrade on these boards has a ton of knowledge. I've only owned the 8 and 18 which are my fav in the 1-26 run. I'd say the 3,5, and 13 are maybe the more difficult issues...
  17. Cool Leroy. Cover image in center all that matters!
  18. Your action collection is getting even better mike!
  19. I'm Marvel/timely guy too but Batman is my lone DC attraction
