So is the book really hard to find?

    I’ve found 5 copies recently

I wouldn't classify it as HTF. Annuals, 80 pages specials, etcs aren't as easy to track down as regular floppies but you know how it goes.. ten years no copies then one day you'll find 10 together in a dollar box

I've also found 10 or 12 of these in the wild (typically for less than $2), and flipped them all quickly on eBay.

Me too. I usually find one about once a year for cheap. 2020 in a comic shops bins, December 2021 $2 flea market, this July at a dollar sale. The 80 page one I never find is the Winter Special 1st Squirrel Girl cheap. The back cover usually has a light black/grey vertical line down the spine. Idk why

A coworker tipped me off on a garage sale in town. Guy had a few long boxes out. Other people came as I was on the last box. I was able to get those Spawns and Batman Hush. Dollar books except for the Submariner. He said he had more he would bring out on Sunday.

Indeed he did. I was a little frantic for a little while expecting more people to show. Especially after I pulled the first big key Marvel Special Edition. Then even more after finding Electra. But I was all alone for an hour going through about a dozen longboxes. Guy was really nice. Cut me a better deal on the books. 35 cents each. So I told my buddies and they both spent over $100 each.

I need to move to where you live lol. On Saturday I went to a yard sale before the local show. There was no signs of life so I left. I went again after the show and they were packing up.. just my luck lol. you should post this in the adventures in the dollar box thread

-script and the reviews are pretty lame

The movie is actually really sublime. Slow burn Noah Baumbach style. really great affect. If you liked this movie Art School Confidential by Terry Zwigoff (who's one of my favs) also did Crumb and Ghost World.. also very freakin great!

So they must have decided its cheaper to reholder thousands of books every year  (including customer service, shipping/receiving, reholdering) than to fix the problem once and for all.  Like their competitors did.

Sending in a CGC slab with newton rings is an acceptable mechanical error for free reholdering?

I'm a bit confused. Are you complaining that CGC slabs have newton rings? That's how the slabs are. I thought this was an accepted fact when you send books into them or buy their slabs.

Yup, they're not aesthetically pleasing especially since they're at focal points of the front covers! Also the fact that they were sent in for reholdering I'd expect them to come back with no issues
