  1. Not only is Bernie one of the best artist in comics, he's also a super-nice guy. Met him today at the Greensboro mini-con and spent some time talking with him. Very approachable and easy to talk to. Had a great visit with him. Here he is signing my HOM 179 (not a 9.4)...
  2. Don't you just love the way those books look in mylar!!!
  3. Well, I guess you'll just have to sell it to me now.
  4. I love those Hawkman covers!!! That is an awesome book! I have always wondered if the "white" area between Hawk and Lion Mane was a mistake. I mean, why isn't there blue sky there?
  5. I was very excited to receive this beauty in the mail today. This is one of my all-time favorite silver age covers!!!
  6. Great pickups arex. Save some money for Heroes though!!!
  7. Also picked up a nice Dead of Night #1. One of very few Marvel horror books that I own, but this one has a great cover, so I couldn't resist.
  8. Haven't been buying too many DC Horror books this year, but I did manager to fill a few holes in my collection today with these...
  9. Hey, Burntboy. Can't wait to see that list!! In the meantime, he's another 10 center that you don't see that often. Not super high grade, but not too bad. This is the first appearance of the Atomic Knights...
  10. Here is another nice Bat book for my collection...
  11. Just spent the day with a good friend of mine who just happens to own one of the best comic book stores in the southeast (IMO). We spent several hours "talking comics" and going through his convention stuff. I picked out several books to buy and put some on "layaway". He showed me some of his Timely collection, which consisted of several Captain America, Subby, Human Torch and Marvel Mystery. All of these were at least Fine and some looked VF. All have beautiful white pages. The nicest of the bunch was, believe it or not, a Capt. America's Weird Tales #74 in beautiful Fine or better condition. It was stunning!!! All in all, it was a great day to spend a rainy Memorial Day. Here are a couple of books that I bought... This is my favorite Detective cover...
  12. Lastly, I don't usually pick up Marvel bronze horror books, but I do like this cover, and got it for a good price so...
  13. I picked up this nice copy of Tomahawk #122. No Neal Adams, but still a great cover. I've been looking for nice HG Tomahawk books (#'s 115-125) for about a year now, and this is only my fourth book!!! These are really tough for me to find in high grade. This is a beauty!
  14. Haven't posted in a while, so I thought I'd show off a couple of books I picked up last week. No real keys or anything, but some nice "raw" books IMO. Strange Adventures #143. This is the first high grade copy of this book that I've ever seen. A great sci-fi book from 1962, featuring a gorgeous grey-tone cover by Murphy Anderson. This is a stunning copy of a book that you just don't run across everyday!
  15. 1. Shield #3 2. X-Men #50 3. Captain America #110 4. Shield #6 5. Hulk Annual #1 Of course, there's also, Captain America #112 Strange Tales #167 etc., etc., etc.
  16. Lastly, my second favorite Steranko cover...
  17. Not high grade, but still one of my favorite covers...
  18. Here are a few books that I picked up at last weekends local mini-con...
  19. Here's a nice Detective I just picked up today. Actually, I picked up a few other issues of Tec, but this is the only 10- center. This book is from the Cleveland collection, and is beautiful, with white pages and great cover gloss.
  20. Great books!!! I know very little about Ducks books, except that everytime I see one, I'm just blown away!!! Which books are considered "key" Duck books? Here is the only book I have, except some of the Gladstone issues. Again, don't know much about it, except it has a beautiful cover, and the story is terrific too!
