  1. Hey Silver. That was my vote for the best cover of the silver age! Beautiful. I took a trip to a comic book shop today and was able to pick up one of my grails. Not high grade, but still a very pretty copy of a book that I don't see very often. — Rick
  2. All in all, a nice trip. Was able to spend several hours talking comics with the owner. I did pick up one more book, but it is not a horror book. I'm listing it in the General forum, if you're interested. — Rick
  3. Lastly, I was able to upgrade my House of Secrets #92. I just couldn't pass up this copy...
  4. One of my all-time favorite HOM covers by Wrightson. I've been on the look-out for this book for sometime now. This is a beautiful copy!!
  5. Here's a pretty House of Mystery #209. Great Wrightson cover!
  6. Took a trip to my not-so-local comic book store today and came away with some nice DC horror books that I didn't have in my collection. Let me say that just seeing the great King Kong vs V- rex statue was worth the trip alone. What a great looking piece! Here are some of the books that I picked up today. House of Mystery #176.
  7. Man "o man, Buck, I love that cover!!!!! — Rick
  8. It would be very tough to leave out some of these war covers when choosing your favorite silver age covers. Beautiful books! — Rick
  9. That's what it's all about. I find myself pulling mine out and going through them about once a week!! — Rick
  10. Of course, there's also Phantom Stranger. How about this great cover...
  11. I don't know if this has been done before in this thread, but I was wondering what you guys' top five favorite bronze horror covers were. I started trying to list mine and came up with a list of about twenty. Narrowing them down to five was hard, but here are mine: 5. House of Secrets # 93 4. House of Mystery #236 3. House of Mystery #193 2. House of Secrets # 110 1. House of Secrets #88 This was so tough. I had to leave off some great covers like HOS 103, 105, HOM 179. 190, 217, WH 4, 10, etc., etc. So, what would you list as your top 5? — Rick
  12. Great looking books, Sal. Way to go!! — Rick
  13. I hadn't planned on posting this one, but after October's great Atom books, I just had to add another one. I just got this today. A true ebay "NM" book, but still a neat GK cover. — Rick
  14. October — Those are some beautiful comics!!!!! I think Gil Kane's Atom covers were some of the best in the Silver Age. The colors on those covers just jump off the page. Great pickups! — Rick
  15. I've posted this pix before, but here is Berni signing my HOM #179. — Rick
  16. Adam, I've never seen a better copy. Adam Strange MIS' is one of my favorite series. I know you have a bunch of those and I'm totally jealous. Beautiful book. — Rick
  17. Beautiful book!!! I wish I had a hundred 8.5's that looked that good. And you're right about the pedigree thing. Don't waste your money on them. That goes for you too, Arex.
  18. Thanks. Actually, the seller graded this a NM-, which I tend to agree with. Both of the bottom corners are kinda soft. Still, it's a nice copy. The seller had a bunch of BA horror (mostly HOM), but this was the best of the bunch.
  19. Picked up this nice copy of House of Mystery #256 at a small con last weekend. My first BA horror book in quite a while --- this one has a great Wrightson cover.
  20. Here's a nice #279. with a date stamp, but I'm ok with that. Doesn't detract too much from the cover. #279
