  1. Slight corner blunting and cover wear (at top). With a good C&P should be an easy 7.0. Nice book!
  2. So, to be clear, @Donthizz look for another copy. Dont buy this book!
  3. 2.5 range. A good cleaning and press would definitely help this book. THE Bronze Age grail. If you can get it at a good price, go for it. I wouldn't pay above FMV though (IMHO).
  4. 4.0. Foxing is pretty severe. But regardless, its still a great Bronze Age grail book!
  5. Between 3 to 3.5 IMHO. A C&P would help a lot. Great book to have in almost any condition and sure to climb in value with Kingpin now in the MCU.
  6. Thanks for the feedback @revat. I've reached out to CGC via e-mail and will also post to the subforum. I'll share whatever feedback I get from them.
  7. Thank you both. I'm still struggling to understand how this type of error could happen. I thought there were supposed to be strict controls in place with SS books to guarantee authenticity? In any case, I'm relieved to know that this is a known issue that can be resolved.
  8. So.... I just unboxed my ASM 361 that I had sent into CGC for the Mark Bagley signing event. To my delight, the book came back signed and graded a 9.8 (it was submitted with a 9.6 blue label). There's just one little problem.... The book came back with a BLUE LABEL! On top of that, the label doesn't even include the Bagley signing in the notes. I've attached photos of the slab along with the invoice, original packing slip, and a screen shot of the submission status. Not sure what to do next. Hoping someone from CGC will see this post and reach out. Hopefully, I can send it back in and they'll just replace the label and update the notes to reflect that it's an SS book? I'd appreciate any guidance / thoughts on what to do next. Thank you all.
  9. Hi @1Cool, There are no cut outs or pieces missing. Wolverine is there, thank goodness. That would have been a total deal breaker! The book is in really good shape structurally. The pages are on the tan side and there are a couple of pages with with some type of spot staining as can be seen in the interior pic that I posted.
  10. Nice book. I think 3.0 to 3.5. It looks like the writing on the back cover is in pencil. Might be worth trying to remove it with a very soft gum eraser???
  11. The book has a full length subscription crease that is most notable down the back cover. The front cover has the previously mentioned 3/4 creasing down the center. No other significant creasing other the the subscription crease. The book appears to have been badly pressed which resulted in the line down the spine on the back cover. Not really a line, more like a ripple. I'm hoping that a pro C&P will correct that and lift some of the soiling. The rest of the book does look good in the hand. Tan to Off White pages but nothing you can do about that. I'll definitely post the results when I get the book back from CGC. If the book comes back between a 4.0 and 5.0 I'll be happy. Thank you all for weighing in.
  12. Hi All, I Just pulled the trigger on this Hulk 180. I'm getting ready to send this into CGC for the Roy Thomas signing event. Any ideas on the grade I might get back? Thanks!
  13. Hi All, Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it. Unfortunately I don't have a picture of the last page to share. If I decide to keep the book, I'll crack the slab and post pictures of the last page. Taking the weekend to decide what to do. Thanks again.
  14. My issue with the "Qualified" grade is: How can CGC determine that the last page is married and the first page (also loose and originally taped to the inside of the book) is original to the copy? Both sides of the first wrap are split / torn down the middle and marry up pretty much perfectly with identical page coloration etc. I'm now seriously considering having the book worked on and resubmitting for a conserved grade. Not sure if that's a good idea or if I'm just in the "bargaining" stage of grief... Any advise would be welcome!
  15. So the results are in and well..... *^%&! The book came back a QUALIFIED 1.5...... Needless to say I'm more than a little upset. CGC thinks that the last page is married (hence the G.L.O.D.). While I usually have faith in CGC, in this case I find myself seriously questioning the married page. Both the front and back pages of the first wrap where separated from the book and taped back with VERY old tape that I successfully removed. the tear on both pages matched almost exactly too. At this point, I'm not sure what to do. I cant stomach a green label so, as I see it, these are my options: 1) sell the book, 2) take my chances with CBCS. At the very least, they will return a blue label even with the married page, 3) have a pro seal and reattach the first wrap and send the book back to CGC for a conserved grade. Please let me know your thoughts while I drown my sorrow in a beverage of choice....
  16. Beautiful copy. 8.5 - 9.0 IMHO. Congrats and good luck with the submission.
  17. I’d say 3.0 for the grade. Unfortunately, the cover damage along with the interior issues will keep the book below a 4.0. Still worth slabbing (IMHO). Thanks for sharing.
  18. 5.5 - 6.0 for me. Thanks for sharing.
  19. Thank you all for weighing in with your thoughts. @marvelmaniac, I sent the book in as a walk through with press which should take about a month (according to their posted lead-times). Several people have commented on the possibility that the book may have been trimmed. I thought the same at first too but, after having the book in hand, I'm pretty certain that its a bindery offset. I'd be very happy with a 2.0. I just really didn't know what to make of the split first wrap. I'll be sure to post the result and images as soon as I get the book back from CGC. Thanks again for the collective wisdom!
  20. Your better off sending the unwitnessed books to that other place for verification. I know its not the same thing but certainly better than a green/yellow leprechaun label.
  21. 5.5. Beautiful copy. Puts mine squarely in the shade...
  22. 5.0 super special on its own and even better with your back story. Congrats!
