Right and from the idea of "variants" as a whole, not so rare anymore,no. I'm thinking more of the individual cover. But yes, even the already graded pre-sale is a thing now so variants as a whole being rare, not really.

Yes, I can see where the business side is going to have a completely different set of parameters.... For me, i'm looking at it more from "what is a more appealing cover?" and less so from dollars and cents though that has to be part of the equation

Something like this is a cool variation on a theme.... not quite virgin, but incorporating the banner into the image....

I tend to be the reverse.... I like having the info there.... I think I'm leaning to the first to the left.... The black is interesting and caught my eye at first, but I think I like the left.... I'm just impressed she's alive again after her run in with Bullseye in 181.... The killer for me is leaving the upc on the front.... Black Cat #1 as an example. Very cool artwork negativly impacted by the upc....

While I don't "dislike" the virgin variants, I think that with the exception of a few cases, I prefer the trade dress cover. I just feel like what the book is.... is an important part of the equation.... I do have the Wonder Woman 750 Lucio Parrillo variant and in that case it was specifically because it was virgin. My goal was and still is, to frame and display it in some way.... But, yes, in most cases, I think I like the Trade Dress.... Again though.... the UPC should NOT be on the cover of any variant!.... JMO....

LCS getting into the free comic book spirit.... first five free, 50 cents after.... This is two days.... Not really an Avengers guy, but I love the retro Captain America look.... and storylines....

I get rarity driving more desirability for the virgin covers, but I do like having the traditional comic look. Honestly, the thing that bugs me about comic covers is the upc ruining otherwise awesome artwork....

Found these and decided to see what all the hype is about.... Fun reading....

Not really sure how you tell the difference but it's not nearly as dark and brown as the scan is making it out to be. The upper left is moisture or a stain of some kind for sure. Here's a actual photo, not a scan. You can see more problems with the back cover. It's a key so I wouldn't mind spending a little to clean up a bit, but at the same time there's knowing when to just let it go....

Yeah, it's a bit of a horror show, but no, it's only on the outside. Inside the cover is white.

I had to be a young whippersnapper when I bought this and just happy to get it... Lots of issues, but I was just happy to get the comic back then.... buy what you can afford.... It's rough.... but on the plus side, that LaSalle Extension University is looking interesting....

Yes, that seems to be the consensus.... I ended up going a different route.... That guy in the upper left corner. That was the one I was thinking about submitting. In actuality, I had planned on submitting a while back, but embarrassingly, I sent the wrong one in.... which ended up getting clobbered as far as a grade goes.... At any rate, I took another look at it and decided to leave it as is....

Not sure who was in the boardroom at Pelican when they decided to go no further than issue one, but i feel like the world was cheated out of a really good comic series....

Black Cat was on my list for a while and I love Campbell's work.... I only bought the Venom because of Spider-Woman, but for 1.99, can go wrong.... I promised myelf I would stick with Deceased through issue 5, but not sure I'm loving it.... Spider-Woman I'm really enjoying.... lots of action and exploding things.... I like the art style of Chu.... hope the story is good....
