  1. Showed the picture to my girlfriend and a few other women and they can't believe this is suppose to be Wonder Woman. Comments so far: "She looks slutty" - Same as a previous post Is that Kim Kardashian? Where is the red, white, blue or gold? Is that headband upside down? Where is the star (on headband)? This is not Wonder Woman So far none of the women like it.
  2. There is so much wrong with this I don't even know where to begin. 1. Knee high metal plates to cover her skinny legs. 2. High heels to make her look taller 3. Not even a hint of red, white or blue. If I was American I would be insulted. 4. Upside down tiara or head band 5. Her top made to look she has a bigger breast size. etc...... Xena the Warrior Princess had a better outfit.
  3. BMV Yeah but the one by Silversnail with the play boys is the one to go to.... I prefer the other one. Just there today picked up some nice books. No. That place sucks. Toronto is not the place to buy back issues. No one go to BMV. Gotham Central is the place to go!

  5. FYI: Inhumans #11 (1975) is first app of Korath. No it's not. Please do your research before posting. Korath the Pursuer Korath the Pursuer Korath the Pursuer Quasar #32 - 1st App. Captain America #399 - 2nd App. Avengers #346 - 3rd App. Thor #446 - 4th App. Yes, it is. Please learn to read before posting. "Korath's" first appearance IS Inhumans 11. He created the program of the "Pursuer" weapons in Inhumans 11, before using it on himself, and then calling himself "THE Pursuer" in Quasar. If you actually read the books, not just Wiki-links, you would know the history of the character. Your welcome for the info. Cheers! Korath does not appear in Inhumans #11. The Pursuer (Inhumans #11) and Korath (Quasar #32) are 2 different things. Korath - Kree scientist who helped create the original Pursuer (Quasar #32) The Pursuer - Terran cockroach accidentally empowered by the Kree to hunt down the Inhumans (Inhumans #11) Korath The Pursuer - Kree scientist who used own Pursuer technology on himself (Quasar #32) Let me break it down even more. The Pursuer (Inhumans #11) + Korath (Quasar #32) = Korath the Pursuer (Quasar #32) First up, in 1977′s Inhumans #11 by Doug Moench, Keith Pollard and Jim Mooney, we are introduced to the concept of the Pursuer, as the Kree plot against the Inhumans… Fifteen years later, Mark Gruenwald debuted Korath, the until-now unknown CREATOR of the Pursuer program in 1992′s Quasar #32 (by Gruenwald, Greg Capullo and Harry Candelario)…

  7. Great books. Highly recommended. Very smooth transaction.
  8. Gary Reed (Caliber Comics or Caliber Press), Wendy & Richard Pini (Elfquest), Bill Black (AC Comics) & Kristoffer Silver (Silverwolf Comics) are the few independent publishers from the 1980's that have complete history of their company. Back on topic. Here is the brief history of Caliber Comics/Caliber Press. Caliber Comics/Caliber Press Read Summer 1988 to Spring 1989. Look up James O'Barr to find his complete publication history and his alias name for the Deadworld title.
  9. Oh wow... Very nice! I actually spoke to O'Barr this weekend about this exact issue. He seemed to have no clue what I was talking about and when I tried to explain and ask him if it was the first time an image of The Crow was ever published, his reply was, "I don't know. Maybe. I probably did the front cover of that book, too." (He didn't). James O'Barr did do the cover for Deadworld #10. There are 2 covers for Deadworld #10 (Graphic & Tame). James O'Barr called himself Jonny Zero instead by his real name on the cover.
  10. 99.999999999% - All of us except MrWeen and the guy who just listed SA #4 on eBay for $99. I mean... it's a bit ridiculous, right? I am all for collector weirdness. If I want to collect all things Thanos, SURE I want to pick up that issue of Marvel Age, why not? I see no problem with simply pointing out weird/oddball stuff like that. Just don't try to point to, a non story, "first time the image of a character sees print" and try to call it a "first appearance". Just pointing to the literal definition of the word "first", and the word "appearance", does not an argument make. This hobby, which is built on people reading stories, is mostly interested in characters that appear, in stories. This is what a "first appearance" means, in comic collecting. There is nothing wrong with collecting the first time the image of a character appears in print. Nothing at all. If it floats your boat, buy every Malibu Sun 13 that your heart desires. Just understand what you are talking about. The first time the image of a character appears in print. NOT the first appearance of the character. Though I would never use a Thanos appearance in Marvel Age as an example when discussing oddball collectibles I can assure you that I understand what I am talking about. Go take a look at the Overstreet definition or a litany of other definitions. I have yet to see one that lists the need to be part of the story as a first appearance requirement. In fact Overstreet defines a first appearance as: Same as debut. And they define debut as the first time a character appears anywhere. Yea you read that right...anywhere. By the way it looks like the market has already spoken about Malibu 13, it regularly sells for significantly more than Spawn 1. For those who type the word market in response to my plea for historical accuracy then what say you concerning a book like Malibu 13? The point is you can't have it both ways. Hey bud I collect weirdness too! Let me be clear. You have no idea what you are talking about. Why don't you go and try this in the Golden Age, Silver Age and Bronze Age thread and see how far you go. Trust me you won't go very far. What part don't you understand that your view on first appearances is utter nonsense, No one has taken you seriously in months. To be honest, you are just wasting your time even posting on the boards. Take some time off, re-evaluate your stance on first appearances and come back when your views change or you are willing to listen. People are entitled to their opinion. Whether you agree with them or not is entirely up to you. Everyone on here can voice how they feel or what they believe.... To insult people or try and people into an arguement is immature, unproductive and doesn't do anything except start flame wars. I am not hear to start an argument or flame war. It is not a insult to MrWeen. MrWeen has been the butt of jokes for months now. Nothing new. MrWeen occassionally has some good insight but if MrWeen wants to be taken seriously that stance on first appearances has to change. MrWeen's views are just confusing the new collectors to the hobby. these jokes you speak of must be told in the super secret forums because i havent read them. most people toss insults or spew anger when the don't have a counter argument. look, my view may be in the minority but it doesn't mean it's wrong. my desire if for universally accepted definition which i understand will never happen. not all comics preview a character at the end of a comic so if im collecting livewire i would want to own that comic, especially in the case as the art differs from the cover to issue 5. sounds like im helping collectors here not confusing them. dont let the amount of posts i have trick you, ive been collecting comics for close to 30 years. im not always right but i dont have an agenda either. i dont own any copies of sup adv 4 or 5 You can't pick and choose which characters you want to highlight. If you want everyone to accept your definition of 1st appearances than you have to do it for all characters and every comic age. But understand that if you want your definition to become universally accepted than many comics would decrease in value as collectors would be looking for ashcans, previews, fanzines, adzines and other promotional material. Hypothetical example, why would I want X-Men #266 if Gambit 1st appears in Wizard Price Guide #55. Why would I want Batman Adventures #12 if Harley Quinn 1st appears in the 1993 New York Comic Con Program. That is a very dangerous precedent. I wouldn't be surprised if the overstreet advisors change the definition just so your view on 1st appearances does not spread especially to new collectors. What the comic community is trying to tell you is if Livewire is shown in SA #4 then mention it but do not say it is a 1st appearance because it not. Simple. Years ago on these boards I was doing the exact same thing that you are doing now but just not saying it's a 1st appearance.

  13. Just speculation. Four Horsemen 1. Archangel 2. Mr. Sinister 3. Gambit 4. ?
  14. I have to find my list but there are more Harley Quinn appearances but on the cover only. Batman: Gotham Adventures #1 Batman & Robin Adventures #1 Batman Adventures Vol. 2 #27 Batman Strikes I leave it up to the Harley Quinn collectors to decide whether the appearance is significant or not. Ask Bosco about Deadworld #10. Now Deadworld #10 is important issue for Crow collectors. I just provide the information.
  15. Well gotta star hoarding #23 I guess, Completest will want it and I'm sure that it has flown under the radar, Comic Vine doesn't have it listed and I have seen some of the most miniscule background appearances be listed on there so I will be picking them up for $1 when I see them. I read BA #23 years ago and I never noticed it until now. If you look closely the picture is signed "Harley". Might have to go back and update the list I made earlier in this thread and include all obscure background appearances. I thought no one cared so I didn't add it to the list.
  16. So I was reading Batman Adventures #23 then I noticed Harley Quinn. Is that even considered an appearance? 3rd panel
  17. Regular books, or the specials, double sized, and annuals? (Keeping in mind that Marvel stopped printing Canadian price only books with their Sept. 86 books.) All the above. Still researching but it looks like my statement above is off as DC seems to a lot easier to find. Annuals (Easy to find) 1980-1988 Specials (Hard to find) 1984 - 1988 Double sized (?) Regular books (Easy to find) 1986-1988 Working on Marvel now.
  18. You got a deal but Peter Panzerfaust is not on fire. A year ago #2 was selling for $80 by itself.
  19. Marvel started to put "newsstand" on the bar code around 2010. Here is an example.
  20. Looks like there were a few promo versions that took advantage of the blank bar code FCBD & Six Flags are reprints.
  21. Batman Beyond #1 has 4 versions. Newsstand Direct Market FCBD Six Flags The book to get is Newsstand or Direct Market as it was issued first.
  22. DMZ #1 That is not including the DMZ #1 2008 Convention Exclusive
  23. I have collected Canadian newsstand over the years as I collect Canadian comic books. My observations so far. Easy to Find Archie Comics 75 cent (1982-1985) 95 Cent (1984-1986) DC Comics only Hard to Find Star Comics 95 cent (1984-1986) Marvel Comics only Annuals Still researching DC & Marvel Comics $1.00 or higher. DC Comics are hard to find & Marvel Comics are extremely hard to find.
