I've gone on record before saying I don't love sigs/sketches on key books - however, even I have to admit that this is really, really cool-looking, congrats!

These are the type of shenanigans that are making Paypal a nightmare for honest sellers. I recently bought a book from a seller and he told me that Paypal is holding the funds until he can prove the book is legit, show proof of ownership, etc. I was naive and put the item description in the notes as requested, but either way, the seller shouldn't have to jump through multiple hoops to get their money; but it's dishonest buyers like this that ruin the process for everyone. I appreciate that Paypal is trying to protect buyers, but when they go too far it ruins the entire purpose of a payment gateway. Not to mention that they had no issue taking my money right away, yet holding it until the seller can meet their demands. I have no doubt that (alleged, to be fair I guess) scammers like this are the issue. Good luck to the OP if all this is true as presented.

Now THESE are some grails (I still love my book though)!

Wow!! Those are some clean looking issues. Nice!

Gorgeous. Amazing sketch!
-
Yeah, thanks, that sketch was crazy - I was watching that auction like a hawk, and it was right place/right time. I won it for $104.50. I think they were selling for something like $275 when they first came out. I've seen the blue label of that book go for around $100-110 since. It's not a high-dollar item by any means, but when I sometimes pull books out to look at them, it's still the one that makes me the happiest!

I don't know if these count as "grails," but I ain't no weeny... This one might be my favorite book I've ever bought - Dark Nights: Death Metal 1 signed and sketched by Puppeteer Lee, who is one of my favorite new artists, and the only artist I've ever reached out to (we've "spoken" via email; I was hoping for a potential small commission or piece of OA. Spoiler alert, I absolutely could not afford it). Batman 679 1:25 variant - love the Batman of Zur En Arrh, and I wanted this book for a long time. I waited patiently to find a copy I liked at a price I liked. I love this cover: And Batman 635. I wanted this book bad, but I never wanted to pull the trigger based on cost (I'm cheap, and I constantly hunt deals). This book for me, aside from being a really cool cover and a great Bat-book, is a testament to patience in collecting. I now own two copies, both bought in lot purchases on eBay. This copy cost me $1.70 (averaged across the entire lot of books I bought, which was something like $250 for 140 books): And this copy was about $17.75 (averaged across the lot of 9 books for $160):

Thanks - this sounds like exactly what happened. Buyer said it showed up today so all is well!

I just realized something...not a big deal, but...

Are you sure this is true? I thought his name was spelled "No-MAHHH!!!" -
Quick question - I have a buyer who made an "item not arrived" report. The tracking shows delivered, but his report says that even though it shows as delivered, nothing was actually there. It doesn't seem like a scammy buyer (yet), but like someone who genuinely didn't get the item. I resent the tracking number and sent a message asking if maybe someone else in the household brought it in without them knowing, or maybe it was dropped at a neighbor's accidentally. My only options are to send a message or refund the buyer, and since it shows delivered I don't want to go straight to a refund yet (but obviously I'll make them whole if it's appropriate). Has anyone else dealt with this issue? What was the resolution?

Aw man. He is the artist who defined Batman (my favorite all-time character) for me. One of the all-time greats.

I did the other day - kept doing a loop of asking for my password. But so far so good today.

This is pure speculation, but as a 44-year-old "Gen X'er," this is the media we grew up with, and this is prime time where people my age want to recapture memories - we were the among the generation that bridged the gap between analog and digital media. It makes sense that VHS, LaserDisc, NES games, cassettes, etc. would be the preferred media in that case, as opposed to 8Trac and things like that. -
