  1. Sweet book! Also, anyone ever tell you that you have a passing resemblance to a younger version of the actor Oliver Platt?
  2. Thank you! You've got cool books at great prices, looking forward (kinda, maybe?) to giving you more of my money...
  3. I think that is the coolest spot for a sig series on a mega key like this - congrats on the awesome book!
  4. I still think 358 should be the first full appearance, for two reasons: It's the first time he's in more than just a couple of brief panels, and the first time he's called "Killer Croc" (he calls himself that on the first page) It's the only one I own out of any of the appearances...
  5. The most fun part of this hobby for me is finding cool deals and nerding out about knowing what books to look for, etc. when you do get the rare chance to hit a flea market or thrift shop that actually has comics. I went to a flea market a couple of weekends ago with a buddy of mine who collects baseball cards - he couldn't understand how I could know that "this (random-looking to him) book is the first appearance of x character" or whatever, but then we get to a booth with cards and I ask, "why didn't you pick up that seemingly cheap rookie card?" and he says, "oh you actually want the update set card from the previous year, that's not a true rookie and it's overpriced." Each hobby has its nuances and it's a lot of work/love of the hobby to want to amass that knowledge in order to capitalize on the right-place-right-time moments. I ended up with a decent haul at that market and didn't spend a ton, and it was a lot of fun - I got a mid-grade Dark Knight Returns #1 for a couple of bucks for example, and it turned out to be a first print like I hoped. Nothing Earth shattering, but a cool "win." A year ago at that same flea market - different seller - I got 2 copies of ASM 361 2nd print for $2 each, and sold one of them for $115 a couple of months ago. There's an LCS I go to a lot too where they seem to be lax on pricing and/or keeping up with back issue inventory. Nothing is sorted so it's like a treasure hunt. In the past months I've found copies of stuff that has heated up over time that I'm sure they didn't realize they even had - Critters #1 for $10, ASM 359 for $3, MCP 72 for $4, stuff like that. My point is there are still at least small wins to be had if you keep up on trends, and the thrill of the hunt is still possible.
  6. I don't mind a symmetrical miswrap - it's the ones that are crooked that bug me the most. Nice book! Also, your username threw me for a loop - we used to have a cat that we named Cornelius Maximus the First, for no other reason than we liked how it sounded.
  7. Very cool, thanks! Picked up some fun stuff - 12 books came out to $24 total shipped, not bad at $2 each!
  8. I just grabbed a 9.2 for $275 and thought I got a steal - nice pickup!
  9. Super excited to add these to the collection! Got a really great price on both of these.
  10. SDCC 1980 Program. Picked this up as a relatively inexpensive impulse buy - this thing is seriously cool! Magazine size, with some interesting articles and bios and a whole section of individual art promos for the con. A little beat up, but completely intact and tight.
  11. Avengers 257 right? I have a copy somewhere, I'll try to find it and see if mine has any similar spots. But like others said it definitely looks like a printing defect.
  12. Looks like the seller added an update at least: On Jun-30-21 at 21:47:20 PDT, seller added the following information: To let everyone know that this comic is a reprint. Not an original 2nd print.
  13. As soon as I read Bunny Mask I ordered the next issue and put it on my pull list - it was so crazy! Did the same with The Nice House on the Lake.
  14. Just snagged a 9.2 4th print off eBay on a best offer. Probably the closest I'll ever get to a true #1; but I think I did ok price-wise. Just have to keep an eye out for 2-4 and I'll have the run of the first 10 - I think 2-4 first print aren't out of reach yet for my budget, but even a #1 3rd print was getting spendy for me...
  15. Picked up a few recent books in the last couple of weeks, here are some of the more interesting ones. Really digging Bunny Mask, and I got these two at retail for (relatively) cheap: Heard these are going to the moon... /sarcasm Got this 5-pack for $16 on eBay - I was the lone bidder. Not sure if that's great or bad... These were the last two sitting on the shelf at my LCS so I grabbed them: Love these Neal Adams homages to... himself...
  16. Some eBay/flea market/online/LCS pickups from the past couple of weeks: I also bought a full run + extras of the New 52 Justice League. Here are some of the more interesting issues/covers from that pickup: And I got these from @bigmoney80's sales thread - thank you!
