  1. Oh nice! Well, it's giving off some Vader vibes...
  2. Those are awesome, and it's my one caveat in my weird personal "rules" - I love that they're low grade readers that are signed. There's actually a 244 on eBay that Neal drew extra bats all over - I think it's a 6.5 (too lazy to check right now), but I remember it looking kind of cool with the extra bats. But I think the asking price was pretty high, and the extra bats didn't justify the price for me. I'm guessing it's too high for others too; I feel like it's been on eBay for a long time. Edit to add: Found it, it's a 7.0. I guess I don't really love what he did in the moon though (I think it's supposed to be Batman kissing Talia?): https://www.ebay.com/itm/154304042985?hash=item23ed3cd7e9:g:2kEAAOSwULZgDEBu
  3. Is that some kind of Darth Vader decanter in the background, or are my eyes just playing tricks? Nice bottle, by the way!
  4. I'm way more cool with these since they seem to fit my weird scenario I posted...
  5. 100%. Maybe if I had a Batman 251 (for argument's sake) that I was the original owner, it was beat to bits from me reading it all the time since I was a kid, and it was my own, never going anywhere copy that was a 2.0 or whatever, MAYBE then I'd have Neal sign it because it meant so much to me. But that's the only case I can think of personally. Now, I don't own a ton of raw keys to be in that position. But I do own, for example, a really, really nice copy of the first print of Rage by Richard Bachman (Stephen King). I'm a huge King fan. But there is no way I would get that book signed. It's honestly in that nice of condition that I feel like it'd be ruining what is a nearly pristine copy of an already scarce book. Like it does a disservice to future collectors or those who wish they had an unblemished copy, regardless of if it's the author's autograph.
  6. I own 2 signature series books, they're posted below. The Puppeteer Lee Death Metal #1 is in my top 5 favorite books I own. But neither book is a key by any means. To each their own - collect what you love obviously. But I can't help but cringe a little when I see a key or a mega-key book in a signature series. It just hurts my soul a little...
  7. Got these from the drop on Eastside Comics because I'm also a sneakerhead. Luckily they seem to be holding their increased value well on eBay, maybe I'll sell the trade to cover the cost which would give me the virgin for "free." Grabbed these next ones from @Jmchnaway's recent sale, thanks Jimmy! Got this one for $1 at Half Price Books. It says "Marvel Movie Special," so I assume this Annie girl will be in the MCU. Bet yer bottom dollar that tomorrow I'll do some more research... And I got this one from @pjray55 - thanks Patrick!
  8. Yeah, that sucks that people were opening and stealing these. I don't really have an issue with people seeing the edges of the ASM 55 and buying, I get that. But outright theft or even ruining the books by trying to move them around in the packs to get a better look inside sucks. And the funny thing is, I bought my packs at two different stores and both the places looked picked over, but ironically the books I ended up hitting on were as good or better than the 55. But I agree, it's 100% like blind boxes and it really does get you with the dopamine/chase mentality. Like, what am I going to do with 3 copies of Star Wars High Republic 6? It's admittedly a cool cover; I do love Rancor. But it's a PITA to sell $4 comics on eBay, been there done that. I will admit that I already listed my 1:500 Moon Knight though, hoping it'll get me some funds toward a book I really want. Are you planning on that with your 1:1000?
  9. Second transaction with Jimmy and the second time I was blown away by his organization, grading, communication, packing and shipping. Thank you again!
  10. Got it, very interesting, thanks! I suppose that makes sense within CGC's rules.
  11. Sorry for the dumb question, but why wouldn't it get a blue? Because of the hand numbering on the back?
  12. I spent $54 and lucked out on 2 of the packs (see above). Started to get a little obsessed and hit 2 more stores after that and they were sold out. I'm kind of glad they were, it snapped me out of the chase and I stopped going anywhere else. At the end of the day I'm happy with what I found, but I realized 4 of the 6 packs I bought were basically junk and I was chasing. While it's kind of fun to pull a bigger book, I decided my time and money were better spent on going after books I knew I wanted.
  13. I don’t think I can pull it off either! I have thought about a t-shirt though honestly…
  14. I love it too! Love how clean it looks as a cover (kind of ironic since it’s a sewer…😂).
  15. Popped into another Wal-Mart today while I was out shopping, and they had 5 of the new Marvel packs on the shelf. The FOMO is real, so I dropped the $45 and took them home. Let's see how I did: Pack 1 (these are in the order I opened them, dollar amounts next to them are a rough estimate of value based on recent eBay sales): Star Wars High Republic 6 - $4; Black Panther 166 (Lentincular homage to Hulk 340) - $5; King in Black Return of the Valkyries 3 (Nauck headshot variant) - $1 Extreme Carnage Marvel Alpha - $3; Wolverine 10 - $3; Venom 34 2nd Print - $3 Star Wars War of the Bounty Hunters 1 - $5; Shang Chi 5 - $4; Spider-man 5 (Pichelli variant) - $4 X-Men 1 - $4; Amazing Spider-Man 55 (1:10 Miles variant) - $5; Excalibur 1 (1:10 Design variant) - $3 Star Wars High Republic 6 - $4; Jean Grey 11 (Hugo connecting variant) - $7 And then literally the last book in the last pack I opened (with the above Star Wars and Jean Grey Books): Moon Knight 200 Sienkiewicz Remastered 1:500 Color Variant. Last 5 sales - $175 (8/9); $150 Best Offer (8/9); $189 (8/1); $190.07 (7/21); $152.50 (7/1)
  16. I only got one copy and it’s in a preorder, so I don’t have it yet, but as a Bat collector I’ll probably keep it anyway. Wish I had a couple to flip though!
  17. No big surprise that Batman Urban Legends 6 blew up overnight… cover A is selling between $30-$40.
  18. I’m just glad for you that it will be safely encased in plastic so people can handle it without you worrying that it will be damaged or blemished in any way.
