  1. Ohio keeps voting it down but with all the other states pulling in millions in extra taxes it will only take time. You can't complain about no tax money for schools and roads and then vote down proven money makers.
  2. Bummer - I thought the book had actual drugs inserted into each book.
  3. #8 - 1st magma #9 - 1st Selena (could see her playing a part in the upcoming movie)
  4. I hear it's a drug issue so it's got drugs in it - right?? Canadian mowie woowie?
  5. Depends on how much time you want to put into selling the books. Listing them as sets will clear out a bunch of books but you will probably make a tad bit less then letting people grab certain issues. For $1 books I'd keep them as a set since trying to sell random issues is tough and you could end up basically giving away a bunch of them if no one wants them. And random $1 issues are a pain to sell on E-Bay but 10 issue runs of books are fairly easy to sell for $1 a piece.
  6. I'll take this and the #2 with the 5% off (basically free shipping).
  7. DD 168 does seem to be getting hotter now that Electra is in the new Defenders show. But I find raw mid grade key books seem to do very well compared to slabbed books. Now you wont find a raw book going for equal to the slabbed book but the difference is not that big. A DD 168 CGC 6.5/7.0 may be a $100 book but a raw 5.0 could go for $60 - 65 pretty easy for what I've seen. People just want a copy of the keys and don't see a huge difference between owning a 5.0 vs 7.0. It's the ultra high grade guys that are picky and want and pay for the best. I'll definitely buy any mid grade DD 168 you have for $30 - not so much the $75.
  8. Good. Hate for that gem to get the purple label. Aren't you going to get it graded no matter what we say??
  9. I saw a few at Motor City Con but I will have to admit most were mid grade Bronze Age and some beater Silver-Age books with not too many of the prime titles (Spidey, X-Men, etc.). Tons and tons of dreky DCs though. I flipped thru a couple boxes but I found way too many nice books in the $5 boxes to spend too much time on the lower end books.
  10. I'm thinking 5.5 also. CGC seems to be hitting dust shadows pretty hard lately and the reader crease will drop it out of the above 6.0 range to me. But definitely a great looking copy!
  11. For your examples I would split them up since the number of people looking for just one issue is a lot higher then people that need the whole set and the price for all three (hulk 180-182) can be outside most people budget. Now if you have X-Men 131 - 139 or Spiderman 201 - 209 I find the set does very well since the cost is fairly low and people do like buying sets of books if they want to start a collection. Selling keys by themselves is usually best but then again you could get stuck with the undesirable issues. Kind of hit or miss.
  12. Thanks. Interesting read. I think I paid $10 for a NM/NM+ copy so I'm happy with the pick up and I'm sure it will only go up with the regular cover going sky high.
  13. I just picked up a nice copy of the Larry Comics #1 for cheap but don't know much about it. Is the print run similar to the original? Based on sales it's far less desirable but why is that true in today's variant world?
  14. I bought 4 nice high grade copies of #1 last weekend at the two Cons I went to and passed on about 20 mid grade copies scattered thru out the rooms. The #2 seemed more rare but the #1 was everywhere.
  15. Is the bottom edge trimmed? Don't usually see them so ultra sharp.
  16. If you have any VG/FN DD 168 for $30 hit me up - quick!
  17. I'll see you and raise you this steal: http://www.ebay.com/itm/DAREDEVIL-168-Origin-amp-1st-Appearance-Elecktra-Marvel-Comic-Book-VG-FN-/311870082018?hash=item489ce7cbe2%3Ag%3ArxkAAOSwlY1ZFdJm&nma=true&si=V7s7PdnRq9bMZ1qFVLp0VM1Ywqg%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 Neither are mine but they both make me want to check out E-Bay more often.
  18. This is 10 times more busy then I saw it on Saturday afternoon. There was boxes and boxes of fresh slabs behind the counter and no one was rushing over to grab their stuff. I wanted to peak my head over and ask "so what did they get?"
  19. Bought a nice set of Man-Thing 1-22 and the books arrived in great shape and packed to perfection. I'll definitely buy from him again and again if he keeps putting up the deals:)
  20. personally don't know which was scarier - the glut of Variants or the $1 Bronze/Silver-Age booths with tons of books left on Sunday afternoon. They were not high grade but come on there has to be a buyer of 1960-1970s books at $1 a book.
  21. He seems to be holding up well but I'm not sure how old the pic is
  22. Did Filter have a booth? Which one was his - the buy 2 get 1 free guy?
