  1. My wife watched the first couple episodes and really liked It so now I've got to put the brakes on and let her catch up so we can watch it together. The suspense is killing me since episode 4 was so good.
  2. I watched the 1st 2 last night also. Another nice Easter egg when they gave Jack Murdock's weight before the fight. 164 pounds. DD 164, classic Miller cover I think you have been playing my number game a little too much.
  3. I'm thinking the Netflix model is something else too... Dangerous. If you're a storyjunkie the level of quality is damn near irresistible. It's like having a bookstore in your house, open one and *boom*, sucks you right in. "On demand" becomes "demanding to be on". There's something to this. I will obsessively stream the new seasons of "The League," "Orange is the New Black" and "Daredevil" whenever they're made available. Thank god I never got into "House of Cards," but if they, for instance, triple the number of shows I feel the desire to stream in a given year, my productivity in life will crater. I feel your pain. I just started getting into Vikings and its been tough to not binge watch a whole season all at once. There just is too many good shows available for a person who has a job.
  4. I'd go for HOS status at this point unless he gets you your money soon. When that Alleycat guy stole a couple thousand dollars by selling a fake Batman 1 there was no discussion of PL list. I don't care if its $150 or $3,000 - taking someone's money and not providing anything in return is stealing to me.
  5. Sad to hear you have to go thru all this BS Hector. Sounds like you did everything you could do to avoid him having to pay for shipping the book and all he had to do was refund your $150 and move on. He hadn't even shipped the book and he already spent the $150?? Side story - Hector bought a nice NM copy of Swamp Thing 37 from me a year or so ago. I think he pressed it and sent it in and it came back 9.6 with color touch and glue on cover. Since I completely missed the restoration, I quickly refunding his purchase price and the cost to get the book graded. In an alternate universe I could have refused to issue the refund and the last year would have been a completely different year all together. Sad that things have gotten this ugly over $150 but people definitely have to live with their decisions.
  6. Wow - just finished episode 4 and it keeps getting better and better.
  7. Three guys at the Con today were lamenting the fact they could watch a bunch of the episodes today. I've not seen this kind of communal buzz since the last Harry Potter book came out.
  8. You guys are killing me. I've got stuff going on tonight and then I'm going to a Con all day tomorrow. Maybe I can watch the first two episodes tomorrow night.
  9. I sold a Cap 110 to Nick and he paid quickly and good communications. Thanks and come back anytime.
  10. I totally agree with everything you are saying. The market has decided that #181 is the money book - and I am fine with that. I just try and let people know that it isn't the first appearance of Wolverine -slym I've never owned a copy of 180 or 181. Too tough to find them for less then FMV. I see a slight "deal" every now and then but its gone before I can think about it.
  11. I think he accepted the deal if you agreed to the $100. The other stuff he added is to try to persuade you to take the $100 or possibly accept the $100 in conjunction with other books. Since you accepted the $100 I'd consider it a done deal and the book sold. I typically respond with a "sold for $100 - please post up the I'll take it in the thread for my book keeping".
  12. Sweet. I picked up 5 NM/NM+ copies and 2 VF/NM copies at the Dayton comic con for $7 a piece.
  13. Wife and I watched it last night and I thought it was ok but my wife thought it was "very good". I thought it was a bit slow but definitely better then Z Nation or other ok shows. I'm sure it will become one of the shows we watch together.
  14. Most of those titles and names (1991 and early 1992) were on my MUST HAVE list when I was younger... but I couldn't afford them. So, I "settled" for books like Bloodshot #6, when I really wanted Magnus #5. I would say that most people who think the Valiant books are worthless don't have any copies of the first 8 books on that list. So, they're right... the Valiant books they have are worthless. But there are Valiant books that aren't. Perhaps, just perhaps, there's a "Rule" that describes this - about something you wanted 25 years previously, that you couldn't afford back then, that you can now? You don't say. Maybe you could call the rule - Rule of 25 or something. Never heard of it before but I'm intrigued
  15. I bought a Black Panther 1 from Jim and it arrived quickly and was rock solid graded and packed. Very good seller.
  16. With my luck my cats would come rushing down the steps while I was taking the picture. Sweet set of books!
  17. I assume he meant the metal (gold and silver).
  18. This may not go over very well with this particular crowd but I foresee women having an even bigger buying power in the next 30 years. Women now outnumbering men in college and I can't imagine those numbers aren't going to creep higher. I think books like X-Men 266 would be a good investment since Gambit could resonate with female fans. BA 12 and NM 98 may not be able sustain the upward trend but who knows what the world will look like in 20 years. But back to the OP question - I'd go with the 181. I'd bank on wolverine remaining more relavent compared to Storm, night crawler and Colossus.
  19. I take that as good news. NBC could easily justify cancelling it based on the numbers but for them to wait a bit is a good thing to me.
  20. Glad to hear my views on Hulu count. I've seen every episode but usually Saturday afternoon since I've got stuff going on Friday nights.
  21. I bought a couple books from Richard and the books arrive safely and quickly. Thanks for the books!
  22. Thanks man. I was shocked to see some of the stuff I thought would be high priced (Ms Marvel Civil War) was not worth much more then a buck and the Lady Deadpool is worth $10 - crazy.
